Goya's CEO Tried To 'Own The Libs' By Declaring AOC Their 'Employee Of The Month' For Helping Sales

Goya's CEO Tried To 'Own The Libs' By Declaring AOC Their 'Employee Of The Month' For Helping Sales

Way back in July, Robert Unanue, CEO of Goya Foods, appeared at the White House to praise President Trump for being a "builder."

Following Unanue's comments, Julian Castro called for a boycott of the brand on Twitter.

Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez also tweeted about the speech, saying she would be making her own adobo.

Months later, on Monday, December 7, Unanue announced he'd named AOC the company's "Employee of the Month."

Unanue claimed after AOC's supposed call to boycott the brand, their sales skyrocketed.

Conservatives on Twitter felt Unanue's trolling was pretty hilarious.

Many played along.

Unanue told reporters:

"We still have to chat with AOC; I love her. She was actually our Employee of the Month; I don't know if you know about this, but when she boycotted us, our sales actually increased 1,000%."
"So we gave her an honorary—we never were able to hand it to her but she got Employee of the Month for bringing attention to Goya and our adobo. Actually our sales of adobo did very well after she said 'Make your own Adobo.'"

Some online pointed out AOC never actually called for a boycott of Goya.

Others also noted the Trump family encouraging followers to buy the brand would have contributed to increased sales in the short term from MAGA minions who didn't want or need Goya products, but are noted for doing anything Trump tells them to do.

Some online said Goya sales don't actually matter much.

So congratulations to Unanue for his epic troll?

It doesn't seem like AOC noticed his attention. She already knows she lives rent-free in the heads of MAGA minions next to Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.
