George Santos Called Biden's State Of The Union Speech 'Gaslighting'—And It Backfired Instantly

Twitter couldn't believe the hypocrisy of the GOP Rep. after he took to Twitter to criticize President Biden.

Disgraced Republican Congressman and known serial liar George Santos disparaged Democratic President Joe Biden's State of the Union Address speech on Twitter.

Following Biden's speech, Santos, who remains under investigation for alleged campaign finance violations, tweeted:

"SOTU category is: GASLIGHTING!"

Social media users were baffled by Santos' audacity to accuse the President of dishonesty after Santos was repeatedly called out on his long list of fabrications.

Santos made false claims about his biographical history, education, ancestry, financial status, criminal record, and property ownership.

Last week, GOP leaders said the embattled Representative for New York's 3rd congressional district–who was assigned to the House Small Business Committee and the Science, Space and Technology Committee–decided to recuse himself from any Committee assignments.

Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy said Santos' decision to step down was appropriate “until he can clear everything up.”

It might take a while for Santos to set the record straight on many counts as his list of erroneous statements is a lengthy one.

He couldn't even keep track of his lies on Twitter when he announced the death of his mother, twice–the first time on 9/11/2001 and again on December 23, 2016.

Santos also declared he was "a proud American Jew" in campaign speeches and print materials after he previously said he was biracial–"caucasian and black."

He later told the New York Post he was "clearly Catholic," and further explained:

“Because I learned my maternal family had a Jewish background, I said I was ‘Jew-ish’."

Santos also came clean on his claim about receiving a degree from Baruch College in New York City in 2010, later admitting he never graduated from any college.

Needless to say, he has his work cut out for him in clearing everything up as McCarthy suggested.

Twitter users thought Santos' gaslighting accusation was rich coming from him, and they raked Santos over the coals in the comments.

Critics of Santos were just getting started.

Users were relentless in calling out his hypocrisy.

Amid calls from both Democratic and GOP officials in New York calling on Santos to resign, McCarthy told reporters at a news conference about his apprehensiveness to step in:

“You know why I’m standing by him? Because his constituents voted for him."
“If for some way when we go through Ethics and he has broken the law, then we will remove him.”

GOP Rep. Ousted From Chairmanship By Trump Calls Out Colleagues For Russian Propaganda In Resurfaced Clip

Speaking to anchor Jake Tapper on CNN last April, Ohio Republican Mike Turner said that Russian propaganda had "infected" the GOP in a clip that has resurfaced after President-elect Donald Trump had him ousted as House Intelligence Committee chair.

At the time, Turner made it clear that his fellow Republicans were parroting Russian propaganda about the war in Ukraine and its relationship with NATO members. That claim came after House Foreign Affairs Committee chair Michael McCaul, who said he thinks "Russian propaganda has made its way into the United States, unfortunately, and it’s infected a good chunk of my party’s base."
