The cat is not the only one that can be killed by curiosity.
Dogs find themselves in peril due to their inquisitive nature too.
Firefighters came to the rescue of a doggo in need when they retrieved a poor pooch from a ceiling duct.
The crew from Fairfax County in Virginia were called to a home in West Springfield where a dog had become stuck in the HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) system.
The crew later shared video of the experience on their Facebook page with a very punny caption.
“The crew from Engine 427, West Springfield, responded to a ruff and far-fetched rescue last night. A small dog was trapped in an HVAC duct in a home."
“Crews took a brief paws to shed some light on dogs location and work out strategy. Firefighter Mark Williams proceeded to cut a hole in the basement ceiling and retrieve the dog."
“A happy and pawsitive outcome fur all! #fcfrd"

People praised the heroic deed.
Especially Firefighter Mark Williams.
But many had questions about how the Maltese came to be stuck in the ductwork.
But the gentleman who shot the video, Firefighter Buck Best, provided the answer.
And one person had a very unusual request after watching the video.
All the best to Lila the Maltese and her owners. Hopefully they will be able to avoid such entanglements in the future.
