Variety Confirms That The Viral Video Of Actor Ezra Miller Choking A Woman And Throwing Her To The Ground At A Bar Is Indeed Real

On Sunday, April 6, video surfaced online of what appeared to be actor Ezra Miller choking a fan and throwing her to the ground at a bar in Reykjavik, Iceland.

The footage was so shocking and unexpected that many questioned its authenticity.

But late on Monday, Variety received confirmation the incident happened exactly as it appeared.

The tweet shows a fan approaching Miller, perhaps jokingly challenging them to a fight, when Miller chokes her and throws her to the ground.

Variety later confirmed the figure in the video was identified as Ezra Miller by someone at the bar, saying:

"A source at the establishment, Prikið Kaffihús, has confirmed to Variety that this was a serious altercation at the bar, and that the man, whom they identify as Miller, was escorted off the premises."

Other "pushy" fans were reportedly harassing Miller before the incident caught in the original viral video, which has now been viewed over 4.5 million times.

Miller gained notoriety for their roles in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them as well as DC's Justice League, in which they played The Flash.

Ignoring the violence, Twitter turned Miller's encounter into a meme.

Many couldn't believe a beloved figure like Miller would act so irrationally.

There were some Twitter users who doubted Miller's career would continue after assaulting one of their fans on video.

Though a Flash-centered Justice League spinoff has been in development for several years, this incident may be the latest wrench in the project down.

Ezra Miller probably should have thought of that before they choked out one of their friends though.
