Eva Mendes Is Celebrating Husband Ryan Gosling's 'Barbie' Movie With The Perfect T-Shirt

The actor shared photos on her Instagram showing some love to her husband's role as Ken in the upcoming film, which opens in July.

Among the most anticipated films set to be released this summer is Barbie.

Directed and co-written by Academy Award nominee Greta Gerwig, Barbie will mark the first time the legendary Mattel doll will be depicted in live-action, with Margot Robie leading the film in the title role and Ryan Gosling as her longstanding boyfriendg Ken.

Among those most excited about the film's release, is Gosling's wife, Eva Mendes.

Mendes first shared her excitement with a picture of Gosling as Ken, with his platinum blonde hair and washboard abs impossible to miss.

Mendes expressed her excitement for Gosling's performance and fairly effortless transformation into the iconic, if genitally challenged, doll.

She captioned the post:

"So. F. Funny."
"So. F. Good."
"So F. Excited for you to see this...#Thatsmyken."

Mendes also revealed during an appearance on The Talk that after first seeing this picture, she begged Gosling to get her a pair of the Calvin Klein knock-off underwear he had on display.

"It's a funny photo and he's trying to be funny, so it worked on all levels."
"But when I saw it, when he sent it to me from work, I was like, 'Can I please have that underwear? Please, I never ask for anything'."
"So, anyway, I do have it."
"I'm wearing it right now."
"There was something about the image that sparked my, you know, that little teenage..."

Now, with just over two months before the film's release, Mendes returned to Instagram to not-so-subtly promote the film.

You can see her post here:

Mendes declared in the caption:

"Got that real big Kenergy."
"Coz girls is players too."

Among the first to comment was the official Instagram of Barbie, who appreciated the "Kenergy."

Making Mendes' public support of Gosling's film notable is the Hitch and Fast Five star's history of being very private about her relationship with Gosling.

Mendes seldom posts public pictures of herself with Gosling or their two daughters on social media.

The couple haven't made a red carpet appearance together since the premiere of The Place Beneath The Pines, the film where they first met, in 2012.

Fans hoping Mendes recent post was an indication she would be joining Gosling on the red, or presumably pink, carpet premiere of Barbie will sadly be disappointed.

Mendes made it clear in a comment that "we don't do these things together", and the only pictures of Gosling she tends to post on social media are pictures that have "already been out there".

Mendes went on to say while she does value her private life with Gosling, she would welcome the opportunity to once again share the screen with the Canadian heartthrob.

Rather surprisingly, among those who do not share Mendes' excitement for Gosling's portrayal of Ken are the couple's daughters.

Gosling told The Daily Mail last August:

"They can't for the life [of] them understand why I want to play Ken because nobody plays with Ken! "
"But that's why we must tell his story."
Barbie, which also features Kate McKinnon and Issa Rae, will be released in theaters nationwide on July 23.
