Elon Musk declared he was doing his part in helping to increase the world's population in a snarky tweet responding to news of him having twins.
The co-founder of Neuralink and OpenAI is an outspoken proponent of increasing the global population.
In May, he tweeted that the U.S. birth rate has been "below min sustainable levels for ~50 years."
According to an Insider report, Musk and a 36-year-old top executive at Neuralink, Shivon Ziis, had twins back in November.

A court document obtained by the media outlet indicated the pair had filed a petition requesting for their infant children to "have their father's last name and contain their mother's last name as part of their middle name."
The request was reportedly granted early this year.
The birth of the twins preceded the birth of the second child Musk had with musician Grimes in December via surrogate–a daughter who they named, Dark Sideræl Musk.
On Thursday morning following Insider's report relating to the twins of Musk and Ziis, the Tesla CEO responded by tweeting:
"Doing my best to help the underpopulation crisis."
He also claimed in his tweet that "A collapsing birth rate is the biggest civilization faces by far."
“Doing my best to help the underpopulation crisis.

A collapsing birth rate is the biggest danger civilization faces by far.”— Elon Musk (@Elon Musk) 1657202681
Many on Twitter were less inclined to feel congratulatory.
“@elonmusk We really don’t need more people….”— Elon Musk (@Elon Musk) 1657202681
“Elon Musk has dipped his pen into the company ink and secretly had twins with an executive at Neuralink. He has 9 kids and his oldest has completely disowned him.

Basically, Time's Person of the Year is a rich white man who impregnates his subordinates and neglects his own kids.”— Fifty Shades of Whey (@Fifty Shades of Whey) 1657165952
“@elonmusk Are you sure about That?
There is evidence to the contrary...”— Elon Musk (@Elon Musk) 1657202681
“@elonmusk Okay @elonmusk this is well-known so far. What do you propose? This isn't a problem you'll solve by just saying hey! do more babies and It'll be fine. It's actually not a problem but a consequence of a bigger problem that we call INEQUALITIES. Fix the cause instead of consequence”— Elon Musk (@Elon Musk) 1657202681
“@elonmusk Collapsing birth rate for who? This sounds like repackaged great replacement theory.”— Elon Musk (@Elon Musk) 1657202681
“@elonmusk seems like we should focus on feeding everyone in the world/housing them before we try to crank up the baby factories.”— Elon Musk (@Elon Musk) 1657202681
“@elonmusk 1950: 2.5 billion people on earth.

2022: 8 billion people.

Underpopulation crisis how?”— Elon Musk (@Elon Musk) 1657202681
“@elonmusk Did it ever occur to you that maybe the younger generation aren't making enough money to justify having kids in the first place?”— Elon Musk (@Elon Musk) 1657202681
“@elonmusk Maybe cause having a kid right now sends you into poverty. I'm not gonna have a kid just to go broke the second the hospital sends me a bill”— Elon Musk (@Elon Musk) 1657202681
“@elonmusk You just want more low wage labor and dead soldiers stfu”— Elon Musk (@Elon Musk) 1657202681
“@elonmusk That’s nonsense. We’ve got 330 million humans in our country alone & you know what the single biggest danger civilization faces? That over 11% of them live in poverty. The sheer waste of human capacity is immense, & our goal as a society shouldn’t be birth more but care more.”— Elon Musk (@Elon Musk) 1657202681
Musk has fathered 10 children and doesn't appear to be slowing down any time soon given his concern for declining birth rates.
The business mogul and his ex-wife Justine Wilson had six children, which include twins Griffin and Vivian–who were born in 2004–and triplets Kai, Saxon, and Damian–who arrived in 2006.
The couple's firstborn died of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) at 10 weeks old, according to an article Wilson wrote in Marie Claire.
One of the twins recently filed documents with the Los Angeles County court to legally declare her new gender identity and change her name to Vivian Jenna Wilson.
She cited that she "no longer live[s] with or wish to be related to my biological father in any way, shape or form."
Her request was granted.
The 51-year-old told Page Six that he plans to have "As many [kids] as I am able to spend time with and be a good father.”
He added:
“My eldest are off to college, and teenagers don’t want to spend much time with their parents. I wish they would (sigh).”
The names of the newborns he had with Ziis are not yet known.
