Grey's Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! and dished on why her 10-year-old daughter, Sienna, hasn't seen the long-running ABC medical drama just yet.
The 55-year-old SAG/AFTRA Award winner told Kimmel:
âMy 15-year-old has seen it. And now my 10-year-old wants to see it, whichâsheâs not readyâbut a lot of kids in her class have seen it.â
âNo judgment on other parents, but I donât want my daughter to see me in my underwear on television just yet, but all her classmates have, so!" she said, eliciting laughter from the studio audience.
Pompeo added:
âThat makes for great conversation at pickup.â

Kimmel started off the segment by acknowledging the show's recent major milestone.
"I couldn't believe this when I heard that 'Grey's Anatomy premiered 20 years ago this month, in March 2005," he apprised the audience.
The cheery response was evidence of the many fans in the audience.
Pompeo joked that she's been told that the show hit the 20th year every year, saying, "I feel like it's been 20 years for the past four years."
Grey's Anatomy, a wordplay on the title of the human anatomy textbook and the series lead character Meredith Greyâplayed by Pompeoâpremiered on ABC on March 27, 2005.
The series from showrunner Shonda Rhimes centers on the surgical lives of interns, residents, and attendings at the fictional Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital in Seattle.
The first season in particular catapulted the careers of Pompeo, Sandra Oh, Katherine Heigl, and Patrick Dempsey.
Pompeo stepped down from the show for its 19th season but has continued making periodic appearances, citing "financial security" as an incentive for sticking around.
âItâs been really lucrative, and I think financial security is not something that every actress is afforded,â she said, adding, âSo Iâm very grateful for that.â
The series is currently in its 21st season.
