Eddie Redmayne's 6-Year-Old Daughter Gave Him Some Hilarious Career Advice After Seeing Trailer For His New Drama

Eddie's new film 'The Good Nurse' tells the story of prolific serial killer Charlie Cullen.

Oscar-winning actor Eddie Redmayne has a new film out, the hotly anticipated crime drama The Good Nurse.

But his kids, four-year-old Luke and six-year-old Iris, are not among those clamoring to see their dad's new flick.

As Redmayne told Stephen Colbert during a recent visit to The Late Show, his kids took one glimpse at the film's trailer, found out Redmayne is the film's villain, and had some pointed career advice for their dad.

Eddie Redmayne's Kids Want Him To Stick To Wizarding, After Seeing The Trailer For "The Good Nurs… youtu.be

To be fair, Redmayne told Colbert his kids don't really get what they're dad does for a living in the first place. After seeing the spread at the craft services table on The Good Nurse's set, Redmayne joked that they got the entirely wrong idea.

"My kids think that my job is to go and run a sweets shop. So there's that."

Still, they're not at all enthused with their dad playing a bad guy in the Netflix film, in which Redmayne's character is a nurse who murders his patients.

That's a pretty far departure from Redmayne's best-known role when it comes to kids, British wizard and "magizoologist" Newt Scamander in the Harry Potter spin-off Fantastic Beasts film series. And his kids aren't into it.

As Redmayne told Colbert:

"They caught a glimpse of the trailer for the film — which, again, is horrific parenting, I don't know why I showed it to them — and they realized, quite promptly, that I am not the good nurse. I'm the bad nurse."
"And my daughter asked me if maybe I could go back to being a wizard."

Who can blame her?

Thankfully, folks on social media are a lot more excited about The Good Nurse than Redmayne's kids are.

The Good Nurse, which also stars Jessica Chastain, is currently streaming on Netflix. We hope you like it better than Redmayne's kids!
