The actor shared an emotional post on Instagram after wildfires swept through Maui, killing nearly 100 people.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson let Hawaiian citizens know he had their backs following the destruction caused by the wildfires in Maui.

Johnson–whose maternal ancestry is of the Indigenous Polynesian people of the Samoan Islands–also encouraged Hawaiian natives to "stay strong" and to let them know that he loves and appreciates them.

Search and rescue efforts are underway after the wind-driven blaze ravaged the historic town of Lahaina on the Hawaiian island.

The death toll is expected to reach 100 in what is now considered the deadliest US wildfire in the last century.

On Sunday, the heartbroken Black Adam actor said in an Instagram video:

“I know that by now all of you around the world have seen the complete destruction and devastation that has hit our Hawaiian islands, our island of Maui, and I’m completely heartbroken over this."
"Everything that I’ve seen transpire over these past couple of days, everything that continues to transpire hour by hour, minute by minute, it’s all heartbreaking.”

You can see the clip here.

Johnson wrote in the caption:

"Heartbroken but our faith and mana is strong."
"First responders, health care teams, hotels, locals businesses, boots on the ground organizations and all our local heroes, stay strong - we love you and appreciate you."

He continued:

"All our local families, our ohana, our aiga, stay strong thru this devastating time."
"Resilience resolve is our DNA."
"Our ancestors are in our blood."
"This is who we are."
"This is what we do."
"I love you."
"Stay strong."

Support from around the world filled the thread.

Native Hawaiian actor Jason Momoa also gave a message to followers but one of urgency in the midst of the environmental disaster.

As displaced victims are offered refuge in hotel rooms and airlines are reducing fares to those evacuating the island, the Aquaman star told potential tourists:

"DO NOT TRAVEL TO MAUI."

Both stars provided links on their social media pages to the Hawaii Community Foundation for those interested in donating as part of relief efforts.

RuPaul's Drag Race season 15 winner Sasha Colby, a Native Hawaiian, shared several links on Instagram for people who want to help.

Our thoughts remain with the people of Hawaii.

This isn't talked about enough, but dads with daughters have the added pressure of learning how to take care of girls, from dressing them to taking care of their hair, which can be a very different experience from raising boys. If they weren't raised with sisters or female cousins, they could be at a total loss for how to approach this.
