While appearing on Katie Miller's podcast alongside her husband, Fox News host Rachel Campos-Duffy shared how Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy got his position—and it's all kinds of awkward.

People are not amused after Fox News host Rachel Campos-Duffy–the wife of Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy–revealed what factored into President Donald Trump's decision to name her husband to the position... which was really not much.

Duffy previously represented Wisconsin in the House of Representatives and is best known for competing with his wife on the reality series The Real World and previously hosting Fox News programs.

The Duffys appeared on the podcast of MAGA personality Katie Miller, who asked Campos-Duffy to recall the conversation she had with her husband after Trump asked him to accept the role.

Campos-Duffy replied that the job was basically a leftover:

"I think Sean's answered that. He wanted to serve the president in any way. He ended up in transportation ... because that was all that’s left.”

Duffy himself cut in:

“But the president told me—and I believe this with him—he said, ‘If I wasn’t the president, I would pick the Department of Transportation. Of any department. It's the best department. I'm gonna give it to you.'"
"Because he’s a builder, and whether it’s roads and bridges, like he’s talking about concrete and bridges and designs and colors, and he loves aviation so that—we have a president who cares about the infrastructure of America. Usually, presidents don’t give a sh**— darn.”

Campos-Duffy laughed at her husband's remark, adding:

“He [Trump] did say, ‘Don’t F it up.'"

You can watch the exchange in the video below.

People sure had thoughts to share after that embarrassing admission.

The Duffys have attracted considerable negative attention in recent days.

Duffy is facing criticism after footage of remarks he made about Euphoria actor Sydney Sweeney's body during his Fox News program resurfaced. Duffy offered viewers "my take on Sydney Sweeney’s breasts." He later said men and women are created a certain way and "Sweeney is just a reminder that men are still men."

Duffy has used his experience in reality television to launch The Great American Road Trip, a program that follows Duffy’s seven-month journey across the country with his family. He was criticized after he was filmed advising his college-bound daughter Paloma against Ivy League universities and that Harvard knows how to "take good young girls" and "corrupt their minds."

The stereotype of the weeping mother unable to cope with her children beginning preschool, or kindergarten, or graduating from high school, or going off to college was shattered by former First Lady Michelle Obama during a recent appearance by Jon Stewart on her IMO (In My Opinion) with Michelle Obama & Craig Robinson podcast.

While pop culture has reinforced the trope of empty nester moms unable to cope when their children gain independence, the former FLOTUS told Stewart she feels free now that her daughters Malia and Sasha Obama, now 28 and 25 years old respectively, have moved out on their own.
