Hilary Duff Just Hilariously Recreated Her Legendary 'That's So Gay' Anti-Bullying PSA

Hilary Duff made an absolutely iconic anti-bullying PSA for GLSEN (Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network) in 2008 to teach kids why saying the phrase "That's So Gay" was harmful. Her ad was part of an award winning campaign that included several TV commercials and print materials.

Duff just re-made her PSA for Instagram with a delightful twist.

Many Millennials, who were largely still teens or young adults at the time, remember the iconic ad in which Duff calls out two girls in a shop for using the phrase.

In the PSA, two girls are trying on clothes when one asks her friend if she likes the shirt she is wearing. When the second, who is wearing a skirt as a strapless top, replies with "It's so gay," Duff approaches the pair and tells them "You know, you really shouldn't say that."

She then goes on to throw some serious shade and help the girls understand why it's hurtful, before walking away in style.

"What if every time something was bad, what if everybody said, ‘Ugh, that’s so girl wearing a skirt as a top’? Those are cute jeans though…"

Duff's iconic line at the end of the PSA has stuck with a lot of former teens to this day.

"When you say, ‘That’s so gay,’ do you realize what you say?"

Recently, Duff recreated the ad on Instagram, with a little help from friends.

Pentatonix's Scott Hoying and his fiancé Mark Manio joined Duff to jokingly remake the ad and spread the important message.

The trio acted out the parts, with Duff reprising her role as gentle-yet-snarky educator of her peers, using props they had on hand and lip-syncing to the audio.

Hoying and Duff shared the hilarious reenactment to Instagram with the caption:

"a culture-defining MOMENT! 🌈🥹"

You can see the reenacted version—with some decidedly different costars—here:

Duff has really been on a nostalgia kick lately.

She also thoroughly enjoyed and reposted DNCE's cover of her song—and total Millennial anthem—"Come Clean" from her album Metamorphosis.

Speaking to anchor Jake Tapper on CNN last April, Ohio Republican Mike Turner said that Russian propaganda had "infected" the GOP in a clip that has resurfaced after President-elect Donald Trump had him ousted as House Intelligence Committee chair.

At the time, Turner made it clear that his fellow Republicans were parroting Russian propaganda about the war in Ukraine and its relationship with NATO members. That claim came after House Foreign Affairs Committee chair Michael McCaul, who said he thinks "Russian propaganda has made its way into the United States, unfortunately, and it’s infected a good chunk of my party’s base."
