Twenty-nine year old Shamsher Butt drove through a McDonald's in the UK at approximately 5 am one morning.
Innocent enough, right? Not so much.
Butt was on his way home from clubbing in Bretton when he decided to drive through McDonald's.
He thought it would be funny to offer a sock, then a chip bag as payment.
Realizing that Butt was intoxicated, Benjamin Goodwin, who was working the drive-thru at the time, directed Butt to park while he waited for his food.
Goodwin proceeded to call the cops who performed a breathalyzer test on him.
Butt tested a 65 microgrammes in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35. That blood alcohol level is approximately .13.
To add insult to injury, Butt had to spend the night in jail and, in turn, was unable to drive his wife to the hospital who was scheduled to be induced into birth the following day.
Magistrate Alison Muir said:
"He was in high jinks. His wife was going to give birth the following day. He was supposed to take her to hospital but he was in the police station."
She also said that his antics were "all part of his sense of humor".
Muir also said:
"His wife is supportive of him but not very happy about him going out that evening and jeopardizing the family finances."People are amazed by Butt's spectacular display of stupidity.
Butt has been banned from driving for 18 months and fined £120 ($153) and told to pay £85 ($108) costs and £30 ($38) victim surcharge.
No word on what it cost him with his wife however.
