Don Lemon Erupts at John Kasich for Trying to Defend Trump's Bungled Oval Office Address
CNN

After months of missteps and dismissals, President Donald Trump addressed the nation on Wednesday night to announce the steps he and his administration would be taking in order to curb the spread of COVID-19, the highly contagious new strand of coronavirus.

The speech was widely panned, with Trump constantly botching facts and announcing policies that didn't actually exist.

At a time of such uncertainty, Trump's regular disregard for accurate information caused even more confusion.

Shortly after the address, CNN anchor Don Lemon began analyzing the speech with former Republican presidential candidate John Kasich, and things quickly go tense.

Lemon was dumbfounded when Kasich said that Trump's speech was "fine."

Watch below.

Lemon pointed out the importance of the President distributing accurate information, especially in circumstances like pandemics, where only the response is in his control:

"I just got to say, if the president came out to calm people's fears, he didn't do a good job of it because they've had to come back and clarify it several times. This has been going on long enough for them to get it straight. We need straight, accurate information from this president and from this administration, and we're not getting it."

Lemon is right. The White House rushed to clarify points and policies announced by Trump during the prepared speech—such as a suspension of all trade and travel from Europe to the United States. That didn't do much to give people faith in Trump's knowledge and preparedness for the situation.

Nevertheless, Kasich continued to commend Trump for supposedly taking the speech seriously enough to not rail against Democrats.

People widely sided with Lemon.

People also pointed out that Kasich commending Trump for his tone indicated just how little the nation has come to expect from its President.

Kasich made headlines last year when he came out in support for Trump's impeachment. After this segment, it's good to know that Kasich will give credit where credit isn't due.

Ted Cruz Clashes With 'Crazy' MTG Over Her Cryptic Post Alluding That 'The Jews' Are Trying To Kill Her

Texas MAGA Republican Senator Rafael "Ted" Cruz raised eyebrows when he attacked Georgia QAnon/MAGA Republican Representative and conspiracy theorist Marjorie Taylor Greene (MTG) for being antisemitic.

MTG has promoted some antisemitic conspiracy theories in the past, like Jewish space lasers that control the weather or start wildfires, but this time people are calling Cruz out for reaching in an attempt to discredit the Georgia Republican and protect Trump from what's being concealed in FBI, Department of Justice, and court records relating to the indictment of Jeffrey Epstein on charges of sex trafficking of minors.
