Max the dog achieved what every dog one day hopes to do. He caught his tail while chasing it.

However, what Max was not prepared for was the total and complete existential crisis that would strike as soon as he caught the ever-coveted tail.

Take a look:

Dogs chase their tails for a myriad of different reasons. For the most part, they hardly recognize it as a part of their body, so they're curious about it.

Max catches his tail and realizes it is part of him, so when he drags it with him into the next room, the rest of his body has to follow.

Dogs also love chasing their tails because it amuses their owners, and dogs love making their owners laugh.

Do humans really deserve dogs?

We really wonder what ran through Max's head when he finally caught the golden tail.
