Couple Grossed Out After Finding Dirty Dishes In The Vents While Renovating Their New Home

Couple Grossed Out After Finding Dirty Dishes In The Vents While Renovating Their New Home

Leaving dirty dishes in the sink overnight just got an easy pass compared to what these new homeowners discovered what came with the property.

TikTokers Junior and Kenzie–a.k.a. @ourcheaphome–shared their bacterial findings in a viral video.

In the clip paired with the popular "Oh No" sound-byte meant for situations that go horribly wrong, a carpet has been pulled up from the floorboard to open the vent underneath.

Scattered around the opening in the floor was an assortment of dirty dishes, cups, and cutlery they recovered from inside the vent.

The dinnerware appeared to have been used, which was evidenced by the visibly rotting food caked onto the surfaces, and they were all apparently stuffed inside the vent–which accounted for the foul odor they said was wafting through the home.

"Our new house came with a little present," read the clip's caption.

The overlaying text explained the disgusting situation.

It read:

"The previous owners stuffed the vents full of dirty dishes."

When TikTokers speculated the culprit might have been children and that their parents probably had no idea, the TikTokers agreed, adding, "The entire house was disgusting. Walls were yellow and carpet was super stained."

Another user suspected it might have been the work of an elderly tenant.

The TikTokers confirmed who the former occupants were.

"There was an elderly couple living here and they had grandkids that were addicts," they said.

Others had more sinister hunches.

The couple assured viewers that the vent wasn't spacious enough to accommodate someone down there. As far as they knew.

The space was long and narrow so not large enough for someone to fit but still fairly large

People expressed concern about their safety.

The clip also perfectly illustrated how far people would go to opt-out of a household chore.

Of course, there's always the one person who accentuates the positive.

As if things couldn't get any worse, Junior and Kenzie made another gruesome discovery.

The overlaying text in another clip read, "Found a little buddy in our new house."

As the camera zoomed in, intrepid viewers who bypassed the sensitive content warning might have noticed that in this fixer upper, not a creature was stirring.

Not even a mouse. Because it was dead.

When a gobsmacked user asked if the new homeowners bought the house sight unseen, the TikTokers replied:

"We visited before buying. We knew it was a fixer upper and planned on gutting it. We’re 18&20 and don’t want to rent so we bought a cheap house."

Louisiana Republican Senator Bill Cassidy was widely mocked following his inconvenient slip of the tongue during a CNBC interview as he mused about finding ways to "cut" Medicare before quickly correcting himself.

GOP Senator Gets Blunt Reality Check After Comparing Trump Tariff 'Pain' To Home Renovation

Montana Republican Senator Tim Sheehy was criticized after he tried to compare the "short-term pain" of President Donald Trump's tariffs to home renovation, a claim so ridiculous that CNN's Kaitlan Collins quickly pushed back on the analogy.

Trump has repeatedly referred to April 2 as “Liberation Day,” pledging to impose tariffs—taxes on imports—to reduce U.S. reliance on foreign goods. He has framed these tariffs as “reciprocal,” aiming to match the duties other nations place on American exports.

Liberal Wisconsin Judge Calls Out Elon Musk In Victory Speech—And It's Everything

Liberal judge Susan Crawford called out billionaire Elon Musk in her victory speech after winning a seat on the Wisconsin Supreme Court, basking in successfully beating her Republican opponent Brad Schimel and ensuring that the nonpartisan court’s narrow 4-3 liberal majority remains intact despite Musk's efforts to sway the race.

Musk fueled the high-stakes race, having poured more than $20 million into supporting Schimel, according to state campaign records. That includes $3 million to the state Republican Party—$2 million of which was donated just last week. Due to state election laws, large contributions must be funneled through political parties before reaching candidates.
