As anticipation for the upcoming Marvel film Deadpool & Wolverine continues to grow, so does speculation about star Hugh Jackman—specifically, about his muscles.
Jackman stars alongside Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool as the titular Wolverine, renowned for his eye-poppingly ripped physique.
But this time around, fans aren't so sure the physique is real, and Jackman has been accused of faking his jacked muscles in the film.
Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld isn't having it. He took to Twitter to confirm that Jackman's bod is the real deal.
Liefeld wrote:
"Hey, I was right there in person and those massive Hugh Jackman biceps are the REAL DEAL. Dude was jacked!!"
"I’ve been seeing folks talk of him wearing fake muscles… WHAT??? No. I touched em!"
The controversy touched off when the trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine, which premieres July 26, dropped last week.

Many fans were immediately convinced Jackman, who's 55, used everything from prosthetic muscles to digital effects to re-create his legendary Marvel physique, no small feat for anyone, let alone a man in his 50s.
But Jackman is nothing if not devoted to his craft, and in response to Liefeld's tweet, many fans pointed out that getting shockingly jacked is part of every Jackman Marvel appearance. So it's not exactly surprising.
Jackman has also posted a handful of videos showing the punishing workouts that allow him to get that Wolverine physique in the lead-up to the film, like this one posted shortly before the rest of us gorged on Turkey and stuffing last Thanksgiving.
Anyway, for many fans, Liefeld's vote of confidence was the final word on the matter.
Hey, they don't call him Huge Jacked Man for nothing, right?
