Dakota Johnson's Recent 'Ellen' Interview is Almost Too Cringeworthy To Watch

Over on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, celebrities often share funny and embarrassing stories to relate to the audience.

However, Dakota Johnson's recent interview with the talk show host takes the embarrassment and shares it with everyone watching.

The interview gets off to an awkward start when Ellen accuses Johnson of not inviting her to the actress' 30th birthday.

Johnson responds informing Ellen she was absolutely invited.

After checking with the show's producer, Ellen confirms she was invited.

Then she wonders out loud why she didn't go saying,

"I had that thing."

We'll get back to that 'thing' in a minute.

After some back and forth about Ellen's birthday invitations, she asks Johnson about Tig Notaro, who performed at Johnson's birthday.

"She's my favorite comedian."

Johnson's comment got a very sympathetic response for Ellen from the audience, causing her to joke about leaving the interview early.

Ellen bounces right back, saying:

"I was just talking to my favorite actress the other day, Jen Aniston..."

She then tries to take credit for introducing Johnson to Notaro by saying Johnson must have liked the set the comedian performed at Ellen's birthday.

"I had heard about her, because I had left your birthday party before that happened."

Ellen questions:

"Why?"

Then Johnson says what we were all thinking.

"Oh gosh, this isn't going well."

Johnson then talks about her new movie The Peanut Butter Falcon with Shia LaBeouf. The interview is back on track after that.

But back to a comment at the beginning. Ellen said she couldn't make it to Johnson's birthday because she "had that thing".

A quick search will reveal Dakota Johnson was born on October 4. Her party was the weekend of the 4th to the 6th this year, which lines up with a very particular scandal.

Anyone remember when Ellen DeGeneres was best friends with George W. Bush?

While it's not confirmed that Ellen missed Johnson's birthday to go to the now infamous Cowboy's game, especially since they took place on the 5th and 6th of October respectively, it is a little hard to ignore. Especially when you consider that Ellen would have probably had to travel to Texas on the 5th to be there for the game the next day.

A lot of chatter online is taking the side of Johnson, while being critical of Ellen. It doesn't help that it looks like she skipped the party to hang out with controversial President.

Awkward, indeed.

South Carolina Republican Senator Lindsey Graham was criticized for offering fawning praise for President Donald Trump during a Fox News appearance in which he suggested the Nobel Peace Prize should be renamed the "Trump Prize" in the president's honor.

Graham made the comment while discussing Trump’s push for additional Middle Eastern countries to join the Abraham Accords as part of broader efforts to end the war with Iran. Graham argued that, if Trump succeeds in expanding the accords and securing a wider regional peace deal, the Nobel Peace Prize should effectively become the “Trump Prize.”

YouTuber and atheist influencer Hemant Mehta shared a powerful reminder for Democrats who fear a minority candidate can't be elected president after Fox News host Jesse Watters mocked Texas Senate nominee James Talarico, referring to him as "prepubescent" and questioning his masculinity on the air.

President Donald Trump has described Talarico as “a weird—a weird—candidate,” a line that was quickly incorporated into an advertisement from Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, who argued that that Talarico is unfit to represent Texans partly because of his supposed veganism.
