She may have lost to former Democratic New York Governor Andrew Cuomo in the 2018 New York gubernatorial primary, but Cynthia Nixon is undefeated in the war of words.

Following the news Cuomo has been stripped of his Emmy Award due to his sexual harassment scandal, Nixon took to Twitter with some epic, pitch-dark shade that has the internet applauding.

In the tweet, seen below, Nixon vanquished her former foe with one simple statement—and two expertly placed parentheses.

Nixon tweeted:

"The difference between me and Andrew Cuomo? Neither of us is governor, but I still have my Emmy(s)."

Game, set, match.

Nixon is the winner of two Emmy Awards for her role as Miranda Hobbes in the iconic series Sex and the City and her work as a guest star on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

In 2018 she tried her hand at politics, running for the Democratic Party nomination for New York governor against Andrew Cuomo, the incumbent. Cuomo beat Nixon handily in the primary, but it's safe to say Nixon has gotten the last laugh.

Cuomo was recently forced to resign the office of governor in the wake of a sordid sexual harassment scandal that has destroyed his reputation and any remaining goodwill for his much-lauded handling of the pandemic last year, when New York was the terrifying epicenter of the U.S.'s first large-scale outbreak.

His handling of that emergency, and especially his well executed daily televised press briefings, inspired the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences to award Cuomo with a special Emmy Award--an honor the organization rescinded yesterday.

The Academy is even going so far as to remove any reference to Cuomo entirely, as it explained in a press release yesterday:

"The International Academy announced today that in light of the New York Attorney General's report, and Andrew Cuomo's subsequent resignation as Governor, it is rescinding his special 2020 International Emmy Award."
"His name and any reference to his receiving the award will be eliminated from International Academy materials going forward."

Cuomo may have won the battle, but it seems Nixon has won the war. And on Twitter, Nixon's pithy vanquishing of her rival had people cheering.

Cuomo was replaced as Governor of New York yesterday by Kathy Hochul, his former Lieutenant Governor, following his resignation after a report from the New York Attorney General corroborated 11 different women's sexual harassment and assault claims against him.

The Albany County District Attorney's office has opened a criminal investigation as a result of the report.

Donald Trump's health and fitness are once again in the spotlight after a close-up shot taken during his State of the Union address of his right hand covered in makeup that failed to obscure the discoloration grossed out social media users.

Last year, rumors swirled that Trump was on his deathbed after he wasn't seen for several days and the White House cancelled his public appearances, a development that fueled speculation in large part because of Trump's recent health problems, which include a diagnosis of chronic venous insufficiency and sightings of a harsh bruise on his right hand.

Former 'Jimmy Kimmel' Writer Epically Fires Back At 'Bruised Skin' Trump In Blistering Congressional Testimony

Bess Kalb, a former writer for Jimmy Kimmel Live!, criticized President Donald Trump during a hearing on Capitol Hill called “Silencing Dissent: The First Amendment Under Attack,” saying the president is the program's "best and worst audience" with "inexplicably bruised" and "very thin" skin.

Kalb's appearance is no accident given how much Jimmy Kimmel Live! has offended Trump's sensibilities over the years—and how he tried to pull it off the air last year.
