Rep. Jasmine Crockett Rips Nancy Mace For Calling Hunter Biden 'The Epitome Of White Privilege'

After GOP Rep. Nancy Mace called out Hunter Biden for showing up to a House Oversight Committee hearing, Democratic Rep. Jasmine Crockett took her to task for attacking Biden's 'white privilege.'

Texas Democratic Representative Jasmine Crockett tore into South Carolina Representative Nancy Mace after she lashed out at Hunter Biden upon seeing that he'd shown up in the audience at his own contempt hearing before the House Oversight Committee.

Last month Hunter Biden issued a public statement in which he declared his refusal to comply with a subpoena issued by the GOP for a closed-door hearing and insisted he would testify publicly, which the chair of the committee, Rep. James Comer, had previously offered as an option.

Despite Hunter Biden's absence from the scheduled deposition following the subpoena, he delivered a public statement outside the Capitol insisting he was willing to testify in an open hearing, and criticizing House Republicans for their continued investigations into him and his family, part of a concerted effort to impeach his father, President Joe Biden.

It was during the hearing that Mace accused Hunter Biden of embodying "white privilege" and challenged his reluctance to comply with the deposition despite his offering to testify publicly and despite his showing up at the hearing.

You can watch Mace's non-sensical rant below.

Crockett responded to Mace's comments, characterizing them as a "spit in the face," particularly for her as a Black woman.

You can hear what Crockett said in the video below.

Crockett highlighted the lack of diversity among Republicans, referencing ousted ex-House Speaker Kevin McCarthy's description of the GOP as resembling "the most restrictive country club in America."

She added:

'Y'all spin, spin, spin.. I don't know how y'all are still standing right now because you should be quite dizzy from all the spinning that you are constantly doing when it comes to spinning the truth.'' ...
“So let me tell you something – y’all don’t know what white privilege looks like ... You see, you want to talk about a two-tier justice system and this is the only time that y’all have ever referenced it when this country has a history when it comes to Black and brown folk, of having two separate sets of rules.”

In her defense, Mace highlighted her role as a former ranking member of the Civil Rights and Civil Liberties Subcommittee. She expressed "pride" as a white female Republican in addressing "inadequacies" in the country, particularly within her district, where racial disparities are evident.

She said:

“I take great pride as a white female Republican to address the inadequacies in our country. I come from a district where rich and poor is literally Black and white, Black versus white on most days."

Many joined Crockett in criticizing Mace and Republicans.

Considering it's Republicans who refuse to put Biden on the stand in a public hearing, it's clear to most observers that they're the ones who are afraid, not him.

The panel was marking up a resolution to hold Hunter Biden in contempt of Congress when Mace confronted Hunter Biden's presence, alleging bribery and calling him out for defying the congressional subpoena.

The younger Biden's assertion that his father had no financial involvement in his business and his offer to testify publicly didn't align with Republicans' insistence on a private deposition first.

Following the dramatic exchange, Abbe Lowell, Hunter Biden's attorney, criticized Republicans for using Biden as a means to attack his father, emphasizing Biden's willingness to answer questions publicly. Lowell highlighted the GOP's actions as "unprecedented" and questioned their motives behind pursuing contempt charges against Biden.

Lowell said Republicans are "commandeering" the resolution "to hold someone in contempt who has offered to publicly answer all their proper questions."

Gavin Newsom Shames Trump For 'Politicizing' Los Angeles Fires In Powerful Clip

After President-elect Donald Trump spread lies about the ongoing Los Angeles wildfires, blaming California Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom for the destruction, Newsom addressed the matter on CNN, telling Anderson Cooper that Trump "wanted to politicize" the disaster even as people flee and lose their lives.

Deadly wildfires in Los Angeles County remain largely uncontained, with officials reporting at least five confirmed fatalities so far. However, on Thursday, authorities admitted, “frankly, we don’t know” the true extent of the death toll. Evacuation orders are currently affecting nearly 180,000 residents, as thousands of homes and buildings have been destroyed.
