The internet seems to be tired of Chris Pratt voicing so many lead characters in animated films as of late—and 'The Garfield Movie' is no different.

On Monday, Sony unveiled the trailer for The Garfield Movie, which tells the tale of how Jon Arbuckle (voiced by Nicholas Hoult) adopted Garfield (Chris Pratt).

The story includes a reunion between the grumpy orange cat and his absentee father, Vic, voiced by Samuel L. Jackson. Rounding out the cast are the voices of Cecily Strong, Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein, Bowen Yang, and Ving Rhames.

The film quickly took its place among two categories of recent animated films. The first is an origin story, in which “Garfield and his canine friend Odie are forced from their perfectly pampered life into joining Vic in a hilarious, high-stakes heist,” per the official plot synopsis.

The other category is, apparently, "animated characters voiced by Chris Pratt."

People couldn't help but note how Garfield sounded super familiar.

Some folks were disappointed with Pratt's acting choices.

Commenters felt Pratt had played so many animated characters—with the same voice.

People noticed that Pratt's animated characters tend to have daddy issues.

Still, many people were okay with Pratt's interpretation of Garfield.

The Garfield Movie comes out in May 2024.
