Chris Pratt Just Compared Himself To Jesus Because '2000 Years Ago They Hated Him, Too'—And Yikes

The Marvel star, who has been criticized in recent years for his conservative Christian beliefs, thinks he's in the same boat as the son of God.

All that internet chatter about the "Best Chris" seems to have gotten to Chris Pratt over the years.

The ongoing argument among fans about which of the recent surge of Hollywood Chrises—leading men Pine, Pratt, Evans and Hemsworth—is the best routinely ranks Pratt at the bottom.

Most criticisms of Pratt focus on his more vocal right-wing tilt toward conservative Christianity after his 2018 divorce from Anna Faris and 2019 marriage to Katherine Schwarzenegger.

But Pratt insists he doesn't mind, you see, because he sees his "persecution" as not unlike that suffered by his lord and savior Jesus Christ.

At least that's what he told an interviewer at a recent screening of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

The Page Six interview clip was shared here:

Pratt has been strongly criticized for attending Los Angeles' Hillsong Church, a right-wing Evangelical congregation widely known to be anti-LGBTQ+. When confronted about it, Pratt denied having any tie to the church whatsoever, despite having been photographed attending it.

Since becoming an Evangelical Christian, Pratt has also become a darling of the far-right.

"You shall be known by the company you keep," as the old proverb says. That, combined with his less than beloved performance in The Super Mario Bros. Movie, has left Pratt on the out with many pop culture fans.

So much the better, according to Pratt.

Asked by Page Six if he feels "attacked" for his Christian faith, Pratt took the bait.

"I sure do but that’s nothing new, that’s nothing new, you know?"
"If I was of this world, they would love me just like that but as it is, I’ve chosen out of this world. That’s John 15:18 through 20."

Pretty weighty take on the life of a literal A-list Hollywood movie star, but okay.

Pratt went on to say:

"That’s the way it is, nothing new, 2,000 years ago they hated him, too."

Ah yes, millionaire action hero Chris Pratt is exactly like a progressive Jewish political prisoner brutally executed by the Roman state for sedition whose example spawned a global religion.

You can probably imagine how well Pratt's declaration he's just like Jesus went over on Twitter.

Chris Pratt was paid $20 million plus back-end points for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

GOP Rep. Ousted From Chairmanship By Trump Calls Out Colleagues For Russian Propaganda In Resurfaced Clip

Speaking to anchor Jake Tapper on CNN last April, Ohio Republican Mike Turner said that Russian propaganda had "infected" the GOP in a clip that has resurfaced after President-elect Donald Trump had him ousted as House Intelligence Committee chair.

That claim came after House Foreign Affairs Committee chair Michael McCaul, who said he thinks "Russian propaganda has made its way into the United States, unfortunately, and it’s infected a good chunk of my party’s base."
