Pine called the drama surrounding 'Don't Worry Darling''s press tour 'ridiculous' in an interview with 'Esquire' magazine.

Chris Pine is speaking out about the "Spitgate" drama surrounding him and Harry Styles.

What drama?

Spitgate.

Pine is finally setting the record straight about the viral video that shows what appears to be Harry Styles spitting on Pine at their Don't Worry Darling premier at the Venice Film Festival last Fall.

In fact, in an interview with Esquire, Pine revealed he was unaware the incident even occurred until his publicist enlightened him on his return flight from Venice.

"I was on a plane with my publicist, who says I look like Rachel from 'Friends' [because of my hair], we're flying back from Venice. And I'm sleeping, having a great time on the plane. I love planes."

He continued:

"And she wakes me up, in a, you know, in a state. She says, 'We have to craft a message about what happened in Venice.'"
"And I'm like, 'About what?'"
"'About Harry spitting on you.' Which I have no idea what happened."
"She showed me the thing. It does look, indeed, like Harry spitting on me."

Pine finally exposed the truth for wonderers everywhere:

"He didn't spit on me."

Pine revealed Styles made a comment regarding an inside joke about their jetlag-induced fogginess.

"I think he said, 'It's just words, isn't it?'"
"Because we had this little joke, because we're all jetlagged, we're all trying to answer these questions, and sometimes when you're doing these press things, your brain goes all befuddled, you know, you start speaking gibberish, and we had a joke like, 'It's just words, man.'"

You can watch Pine's explanation of the event below.

Many viewers chimed in, expressing they too believed Styles was innocent of unsolicited saliva sharing.

Regardless of Pine's confession, however, many are still unconvinced.

Of course, Pine was asked about other drama surrounding the flick - like director Olivia Wilde being served custody papers during a CinemaCon presentation of the movie, Wilde's controversial fling with Styles (who replaced Shia LaBeouf after his questionable exit from the film), and Wilde's alleged (but never confirmed) on-set feud with Florence Pugh - but fortunately for Pine, none of it involved him.

Pine shared:

"If there was drama, there was drama. I absolutely didn't know about it, nor really would I have cared."
"If I feel badly, it's because the vitriol that the movie got was absolutely out of proportion with what was onscreen. Venice was normal things getting swept up in a narrative that people wanted to make, compounded by the metastasizing that can happen in the Twittersphere."
"It was ridiculous."

You can see Pine later this month in his upcoming film Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.

On his Substack Wednesday, former South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg wrote about why he decided to enter the "manosphere" and sit down with the hosts of the Flagrant podcast.

Communities within it include men's rights activists, incels, Men Going Their Own Way, pick-up artists, and fathers' rights groups."

Sarah Michelle Gellar? More like "Sarah Dead Gellar."

At least that’s what the iconic scream queen told director and best friend Jennier Kaytin Robinson when she tried to pitch all the ways to bring back Helen Shivers’ frozen corpse to life for the I Know What You Did Last Summer reboot.
