Cristina Cuomo, wife of CNN host Chris Cuomo, has tested positive for the virus.

Chris shared the news on his show, Cuomo Prime Time, on Wednesday. He has been battling the disease himself for over two weeks, and recently began having significant symptoms again.

Cristina has been chronicling her husband's illness on Instagram, giving people a good insight into what dealing with the virus at home is like.

She shared an update about how Chris was feeling just 2 days ago, saying:

"Today is day 18 of a very slow, skittish recovery. He successfully turned the corner away from his severe symptoms and the potential danger of pneumonia, but still feels consistently light-headed, week [sic], fever on, fever off."

When Chris revealed Christina's diagnosis, he didn't try to hide his feelings.

"She is now positive, and it just breaks my heart. It is the one thing I was hoping wouldn't happen, and now it has."

Cuomo also shared his thoughts on Twitter with a heartfelt clip from the show of him talking with his brother, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, about how hard it is to properly quarantine at home with family without exposing them.

Governor Cuomo wasn't all gloom and doom, though, he took the opportunity to needle his little brother a bit to try and lighten the mood, joking:

"The good news…Cristina is going to blame you for this, there's a lot of other things as you know that she can blame you for, so this is going to be number 17 on the list."

Chris said that he suffered from severe fever due to the illness—even chipping a tooth due to shivering during a particularly bad period.

As Chris said in his tweet, the couple's 3 children are still healthy, but Christina's diagnosis has hit the family hard.

"My 17-year-old stepped up. The kids stepped up because mom is the core, right—I mean when mom goes down you feel it—and they have stepped up."
"They're helping each other, they're more quiet, they're focused on her, and hopefully it makes the family even stronger."

The internet responded to Cuomo's news with well-wishes for his family.

This is a difficult time for families around the globe. Stay safe out there, everyone.
