Chiropractor Goes Viral On TikTok After Claiming '99% Of My Profession' Is Actually A Scam

Chiropractor Goes Viral On TikTok After Claiming '99% Of My Profession' Is Actually A Scam
@trevorzierke_dc/TikTok

Chiropractor Trevor Zierke—@trevorzierke_dc on TikTok—took the opportunity to talk about the realities of his field.

We all know that there are things that we could do at our places of work that will guarantee that we will lose our jobs.

But when there's something unethical happening in the workplace, it's worth breaking the silence.

That was exactly the decision chiropractor Trevor Zierke, @trevorzierke_dc on TikTok, made when a popular trend on the app gave him the ample opportunity to talk about the realities of his field.

@DebtCollective asked a question in June that has been a trend on TikTok ever since:

"What's a scam that's become so normalized that we don't even realize it's a scam anymore?"

Zierke stitched the video and swiftly replied:

"Literally 99% of my profession."

Zierke went on to explain seeking out a chiropractor had become an over-popularized solution, simply because potential patients were being told all of their ailments could be solved with realignments and massages.

Zierke gave examples of a few common claims he has seen:

"Your spine is misaligned, and we can put it back in place."
"You have back pain, because your hips are off-center."
"Chiropractor adjustments take tensions off the nerves because that tension on your nerves is causing all of your health problems."
"I could go on and on and on, and almost all of these are not true."

After TikTok was surprised by the video, Zierke clarified his thoughts in a second video:

"I want to make clear that I am not saying that all chiropractors are a scam. Given that I myself am a chiropractor, that would not make much sense."
"But more so what I was getting at in that video is that most people who go to a chiropractor are told by chiropractors why they need to come in, and those reasons are either overblown or are just flat-out lies proven wrong by research."
"If you're seeing a chiropractor who is telling you that you need to come in for one of these [examples from the previous video] reasons, that's where I believe it's a scam."
"None of these things are either what's causing your pain or can even be fixed by a chiropractor."
"I just don't want people in pain to be manipulated by chiropractors into coming in to see them, when really they don't need to."

As a result of the interest his scam videos produced, Zierke went on to make more videos.

Like when the appropriate time to seek out a chiropractor is...

...as well as red flags to look for in a chiropractor's demeanor and professional practices.

While seeing a chiropractor can be incredibly beneficial, it's clear people need to do their research.

Really consider why they feel the need to see a chiropractor before they set that first appointment.

Bald Men Are Up In Arms Over Viral Chart That Predicts Political Affiliation Based On A Man's Haircut

Can a man's haircut tell you his political affiliation? Scientifically, of course not... but we probably all have a gut feeling about it, regardless!

Republicans Slammed For Soulless One-Word Response To Democrats' Trans Day Of Visibility Tweet

According to research by the Williams Institute at UCLA School of Law, transgender people in the United States were over four times more likely than cisgender people to be victims of violent crime based on statistics from 2017-2018. A study by the non-profit Everytown for Gun Safety found the number of trans people murdered in the U.S. nearly doubled between 2017and 2021.

In the last 5–9 years, those figures have only increased as the Republican Party has made trans people the target of many of their political campaigns and legislative actions.

Pete Hegseth Slammed After Calling Off Investigation Into Army Helicopter Fly-By At Kid Rock's House

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was criticized for calling off the U.S. Army's investigation after MAGA musician Kid Rock posted a video of an Army Apache helicopter doing a fly-by at his Nashville home.

The video shows Kid Rock saluting as the aircraft hovers near his property, standing next to a replica Statue of Liberty by his pool. In the brief clip, a helicopter that appears to be an AH-64 Apache—an attack helicopter used by the U.S. Army and National Guard—flies at low altitude near his estate in Whites Creek.
