Chick-fil-A CEO Blasted Over His Evasive Answers To Questions About Company's Views On LGBTQ+ Rights

Chick-fil-A CEO Andrew Cathy sparked backlash after trying to avoid answering questions during a Today interview on Wednesday about where the company currently stands when it comes to LGBTQ+ rights.

Members and allies of the LGBTQ+ community have boycotted the fast-food restaurant chain Chick-fil-A for years, since CEO Dan Cathy said in 2012 that Chick-fil-A was supportive of "the biblical definition" of family and was family-friendly to families who fit that definition.

Realizing the chain would rally against LGBTQ+ rights, many immediately stopped patronizing the restaurant.

This week, Craig Melvin from Today sat down with the Dan Cathy's son and current Chick-fil-A CEO Andrew Cathy, and he was curious to see if the company still carries the same definition of "family."

Melvin asked:

"People were protesting; they were boycotting Chick-fil-A."
"Chick-fil-A, they don't stand with the LGBTQ+ community."
"What would you say to those folks?"

Instead of answering the question, Cathy said:

"Well, for anybody that hasn't tried us, we'd love for you to come try and have our great-tasting food and the hospitality that we're known for."
"I think that everybody that will be willing to walk in the door, they'll see that they're welcome to come eat with us."
"We'd love to give them a great-tasting sandwich and give them great hospitality."

Melvin smiled throughout and clocked Cathy's deflection.

"You don't want to talk about that chapter in Chick-fil-A's history."

Cathy dodged the question again:

"We're focused on serving everybody that come in and eat with us."

Melvin tried to ask the question again:

"The company's official position on equal rights is..."

Cathy did not take the fill-in-the-blank option, either.

"We're focused on hospitality, serving great-tasting food and great service."

There's a saying among businesses and entrepreneurs that when you try to make your business for everyone, it will be for no one, because it isn't tailored properly to anyone's interests or needs.

By saying that their doors are open to anyone, Cathy effectively said that they're willing to accept your money, but that doesn't mean they're interested in supporting your rights.

Elon Musk Offers Awkward Reaction After Spending Nearly Half A Billion Dollars On Losing Republicans

Trillionaire X owner Elon Musk offered an awkward reaction after spending nearly $474 million on Republican candidates, many of whom lost on Election Night.

Musk’s political spending is expected to climb beyond the $474 million reported so far, since contributions made after October 14 have not yet been included in the tally. Of the amount currently documented, $216 million was directed to his own super PAC, America PAC, including $212 million earmarked for Republican Senate candidate Ken Paxton.

'Chucky' Creator Has Epic Clapback After Nicki Minaj Posts AI Photo Of Doll Supporting Republicans

Future press secretary hopeful and AI slop queen Nicki Minaj might want to reconsider her choice of horror mascot. Because while Chucky has spent decades terrorizing innocent people, apparently being recruited into MAGA was a step too far.

The trouble began on November 3, when Minaj celebrated the midterm elections by sharing an AI-generated image of Chucky wearing pink and a “Vote Red” sticker.

Gynecologists Are Weighing In With Hilarious Warnings Due To Overwhelming 'Wicker' Thirst

Wicker has been in theaters for a couple of weeks now and it's causing quite a stir. The quirky romantic fantasy stars Alexander Skarsgård as a man made entirely from wicker and Olivia Colman as the lonely fisherwoman who grows so tired of her town's ridicule that she commissions the local basketmaker (Peter Dinklage) to weave her a husband.

Despite the film's romantic subtext and its pushback against social norms, much of the online chatter has focused on the more intimate moments. And people are wondering how complete Skarsgård's costume was, particularly the appendage that made those sexy scenes memorable.

Whew! How 'bout those midterms, huh? Just blow after blow and shock after shock dealt to the Republicans of the country—and nowhere more intensely than in Texas.

Texas is arguably the story of the midterms, a state that hasn't gone blue in decades and hasn't been won by a Democratic Presidential candidate since 1976.
