Candace Owens Torched After Absurd Meltdown Over 'Muppet Babies': 'Bring Back Manly Muppets'

There are few things in this world more wholesome and easy to watch than The Muppets. Even their shows aimed at younger audiences aren't offensive to most people.

Candace Owens, however, isn't most people. The right-wing personality couldn't stand a recent episode of the reboot of Muppet Babies.

Owens took to Twitter to share her outrage.

Owens shared a clip of an episode where Miss Piggy invites the other characters to a ball where the girls dress as princesses and the boys dress as knights.

Gonzo wants to wear a gown, but is told he needs to dress as a knight. The Muppet doesn't want to do that, and Rizzo, the "fairy ratfather" grants Gonzo's wish to become "Gonzo-rella," allowing him to attend the ball with a gown and glass shoes.

Initially, none of the other Muppets know who the new princess is, until Gonzo reveals he was secretly Gonzo-rella.

The Muppet says:

"You all expected me to look a certain way."
"I don't want you to be upset with me, but I don't want to do things because that's the way they've always been done either. I want to be me."

It's a very wholesome message that Candace Owens just couldn't stand, calling the show "perverted" for showing Gonzo in a dress.

Except the character has famously worn dresses off and on for decades and isn't the only one.

Many in the LGBTQ community welcomed the episode and its message of acceptance. While Gonzo wants to wear a dress despite being told he needs to dress as a knight, we do not have confirmation that the episode was meant to show Gonzo is transgender.

In fact, the words "transgender" and "dysmorphia" show up nowhere in the episode, despite Owens' complaints. However it's not surprising that the episode is so accepting, considering The Muppets have been very progressive since the 1970s.

The company has always hired diverse entertainers, including puppeteers who are openly gay.

Owens' complaints about the episode show how much of a joke her opinions really are.

This isn't the first time Owens has decided that someone shouldn't wear a dress. Last year, her rage was directed at Harry Styles, who wore a Gucci dress on the cover of Vogue.

Her comments led to her getting slammed online.

American YouTuber Arrested After Sneaking Onto Remote Island And Leaving Diet Coke For Uncontacted Tribe

24-year-old YouTuber Mykhailo Viktorovych Polyakov was arrested after making contact with one of the world's last uncontacted tribes, making the perilous and ill-advised journey to North Sentinel Island and leaving a coconut and a can of Diet Coke on the beach as a gift to the Sentinelese.

Polyakov, 24, arrived at the northeastern shore of North Sentinel Island at 10 a.m. on March 29, according to police reports. He used binoculars to survey the land but saw no one. He then climbed ashore, leaving behind a Diet Coke and a coconut, took sand samples, and recorded a video, the authorities said.
