Candace Cameron Bure Slammed After Announcing New Channel With 'Traditional Marriage' Content

The former 'Fuller House' star left the Hallmark channel in 2021 to form the Great American Family channel after Hallmark's push for diversity.

It seems Hallmark's "queen of Christmas" Candace Cameron Bure won't be blessing us with any of the channel's new holiday releases this year, as she is vowing to put "Christ" back in Christmas.

Bure left Hallmark and joined its former CEO Bill Abbott at Great American Family Channel, which she told the Wall Street Journal would be focusing on "traditional" families.

Hallmark has been making efforts to make their films more diverse and inclusive, releasing its first same-sex-centered holiday movie this year.

It seems Bure doesn't find these types of movies have "meaning" or make for "good family entertainment."

"My heart wants to tell stories that have more meaning and purpose and depth behind them."
"I knew that the people behind Great American Family were Christians that love the Lord and wanted to promote faith programming and good family entertainment."

She continued to share Hallmark "basically is a completely different network than when I started because of the change of leadership."

When asked if GAF might one day have same-sex couples, Bure replied:

"I think that Great American Family will keep traditional marriage at the core."

Responding to the same question, Abbott said:

"It's certainly the year 2022, so we're aware of the trends."
"There's no whiteboard that says, 'Yes, this' or 'No, we'll never go here'."

Trends?

Marginalized people are trends?

That definitely garnered a response.

As for Bure, the masses seem to be saying, "Good Riddance."

In Abbott's and Bure's joint interview with Variety, Abbott offered that those wishing to tell more diverse and inclusive stories should probably pitch their ideas to Netflix or Hallmark versus GAF.

We don't see any GAF and chill in our near future.
