It seems Hallmark's "queen of Christmas" Candace Cameron Bure won't be blessing us with any of the channel's new holiday releases this year, as she is vowing to put "Christ" back in Christmas.
Bure left Hallmark and joined its former CEO Bill Abbott at Great American Family Channel, which she told the Wall Street Journal would be focusing on "traditional" families.
Hallmark has been making efforts to make their films more diverse and inclusive, releasing its first same-sex-centered holiday movie this year.
It seems Bure doesn't find these types of movies have "meaning" or make for "good family entertainment."
"My heart wants to tell stories that have more meaning and purpose and depth behind them."
"I knew that the people behind Great American Family were Christians that love the Lord and wanted to promote faith programming and good family entertainment."
She continued to share Hallmark "basically is a completely different network than when I started because of the change of leadership."
When asked if GAF might one day have same-sex couples, Bure replied:
"I think that Great American Family will keep traditional marriage at the core."
Responding to the same question, Abbott said:
"It's certainly the year 2022, so we're aware of the trends."
"There's no whiteboard that says, 'Yes, this' or 'No, we'll never go here'."
Trends?
Marginalized people are trends?
That definitely garnered a response.

“@DevonESawa Imagine referring to same-sex couples as a trend. Bill Abbott and Candace Cameron are trash.”— devon sawa (@devon sawa) 1668521780
As for Bure, the masses seem to be saying, "Good Riddance."
“FINALLY A NETWORK FOR STORIES WITH STRAIGHT LEADS!!!

Candace Cameron Bure you're that girl, we knew you were. Enjoy your straight, white echo chamber, because something tells me people outside of your cult (or under the age of 80) won't be "prioritizing" watching your movies.”— Kit Williamson (@Kit Williamson) 1668468191
“@Variety Candace Cameron answers the question no one asked: What’s worse than a Hallmark movie?”— Variety (@Variety) 1668466409
“@Variety They should rename it the "Great White Christian Nationalist Family"

We gotta stop letting people appropriate "American" when they're really talking about extremist religious views

It's like calling ISIS "THE GREAT IRAQI FAMILY" or something”— Variety (@Variety) 1668466409
“@Variety I’ve always said marriage should remain the sacred union between a female New York City executive whose snowmobile breaks down in a small village and the owner of a Christmas tree farm who is secretly the prince of a made-up European country.”— Variety (@Variety) 1668467543
“Currently saddened to learn that Candace Cameron Bure has moved to work with a TV network that calls straight couples the traditional marriage.
I no longer support her. Her views on the LGBTQ+ community is sadly anti - Christian. In Abbott's and Bure's joint interview with Variety, Abbott offered that those wishing to tell more diverse and inclusive stories should probably pitch their ideas to Netflix or Hallmark versus GAF.
We don't see any GAF and chill in our near future.
