TikToker @sloppyjoey17's dad wasn't going to let a pesky tornado stop him from watching the series finale of 'Buffy.'

I don't know about you, but I was glued to my television for every episode of Buffy The Vampire Slayer when it came on.

The series—based on the 1992 film of the same name—aired on The WB then UPN from 1997-2003.

I owe a lot of things to that show:

  • my healthy avoidance of cemeteries
  • my sarcasm
  • my deep love of villains
  • a life long obsession with all things occult...

But there is one thing TikToker SloppyJoey17—@sloppyjoey17—can say about the show most fans can't.

It literally saved his life.

Not only that—it saved his whole family's lives.

The video ends with SloppyJoey17 thanking Sarah Michelle Geller, the actress that played Buffy on the show.

"So literally we all owe our lives to Sarah Michelle Geller. Thank you. Thank you."

And to that, I also add a thank you to Geller for being an inspiration to a quiet child who needed a strong female to look up to.
