Podcast Host Who Put Matt Rife On Blast Shares Hilarious Response After He Tried To Text Her

After Brooke Schofield shed some light on her past with controversial comedian Matt Rife on 'Cancelled with Tana Mongeau,' Rife tried to reach out—but Schofield shut him down using his own playbook.

For someone who owes his launch into mainstream, and what's left of his career, almost exclusively to women, Matt Rife sure has a bizarre way of showing his appreciation.

He's done a bit about domestic violence, started beef with a 6-year-old and his mom, apologized with an ableist joke, and engaged in body shaming.

Maybe a quick rundown is in order.

Rife became popular because of women, mainly because of how he engaged with his female audiences by flirting and playing up his looks.

Rife told Men's Health, however, that being attractive can be a burden.

"I started working out way after I was doing stand-up. I've been doing stand-up for a little over 12 years now."
"I will say I don't think it helps you by any means - people don't want to laugh at physically attractive people. You don't want to walk on stage and have people looking at your arms rather than listening to your jokes."

So, according to the comedian, he need to work even harder at being funny.

The fellas didn't approve of that message, but Rife still wanted to be liked by the guys.

In fact, he wanted a male fanbase so badly that he catered his entire Netflix special Natural Selection to the gents and attempted to win them over by joking about domestic violence.

When he received backlash for that (shocker, we know), Rife doubled down by addressing the issue on his Instagram stories, posting a link to his "official apology" that directed to a medical supply web page for special needs helmets.

Awful and unacceptable, yes, but then a beautiful thing happened.

Videos and stories of Rife began to make their way around the internet, exposing Rife's history of misogynistic behavior.

Like the time he grabbed Zendaya's face.

Or when he disclosed on Cancelled with Tana Mongeau that people who hate him are just jealous of his looks and success.

Hilariously, though, the host shut him down with her response:

“Do you think people who hate Osama bin Laden are just jealous of him?”

Interestingly enough, what the listener didn't know at the time was that Mongeau's cohost Brooke Schofield had actually dated Rife prior to his appearance on the podcast, despite his apparent distant interaction with her.

According to Schofield, Rife did not treat her, or the other seven women he was dating at the time, very well. But don't worry, she had the last laugh, and she shared it with all of social media.

On a recent episode of the podcast, Schofield revealed she and Rife dated at the beginning of the year, and things seemed to being going quite wonderfully.

"I wouldn't say he was my ex or anything because it wasn't like this serious relationship, but it wasn't just hooking up with him - I really liked him."

In retrospect, the cohost realized he was "love bombing" her, making her think he was “the f**king nicest guy ever.”

But there were some concerns.

Schofield would fly all over the country to meet up with Rife, but the same didn't happen when they were both at their homes in Los Angeles.

Eventually, he told her that he didn't “have time for a relationship," and she respected his honesty.

But as Schofield soon found out, that wasn't the case at all.

The cohost revealed that earlier this month she was tagged in a TikTok that was essentially a montage of photos of a woman with Rife, obviously in a romantic relationship. Schofield realized the timeline of these photos overlapped with the period when she and Rife were dating.

Before she knew it, Schofield found herself in a group chat with seven other women who shared the same experience.

She told her cohost:

“For a man who doesn’t have time, this man had the most time."

Elsewhere in the podcast, Schofield revealed that Rife made some upsetting comments when he appeared on a podcast just a day after they had spent a night together.

First, he revealed that his "type" is “blondes with fake tits," which does not fit Schofield's description at all.

Schofield continued:

“He goes on to say that he is disgusted by ‘outie’ vaginas, like, girls who have ‘outie’ vaginas because ‘it looks like god left the tag on them.’ Now, I’m going to give you guys the Cancelled exclusive here, but I, Brooke Schofield, have an ‘outie’ vagina, OK?”
“And so do f**king two thirds of America!”
“Imagine how I felt, he literally just went on a podcast and was like: ‘Yeah, I’m f**king repulsed by this b*tch.’”

She added:

“I’ve never thought about that, I watched the episode, and all of a sudden I was like: ‘First of all, I need a boob job, second of all…'”
“It’s something you should never f**king comment on.”

Then the podcaster said she realized Rife had blocked her when she reached out to him to make sure she had her "facts straight."

BUT!

It turns out that Rife must've had a change of heart. Schofield shared a screenshot on her Instagram late last week that the comedian actually texted her.

He wrote:

"Brooke, this is MR"

And Schofield had the most iconic response, simply replying with the same link Rife used to issue his fake apology for anyone who was "offended by [his] jokes."

A couple of fans questioned the authenticity of this interaction, but Schofield assured them it definitely happened.

And some could not get over Rife simply using his initials, to which Schofield replied:

"Like he's JK"

But all viewers of this exchange celebrated Schofield's shutdown of a response.

Most recently, Rife found himself in the middle of an online feud... with a 6-year-old boy.

At the end of his bit about domestic violence in Natural Selection, Rife mentioned girls who are into astrology.

“It has nothing to do with the stars, man. Just because Jupiter has a ring and you don’t doesn’t mean that’s what you’re supposed to look up to for this magical advice.”

TikToker Bunny Hedaya's son made his own video in which he said:

“Actually, it’s Saturn that has the rings. It has more [visible rings] also."

He added:

“And, you’re mean to girls."

So Rife, being a grown man, commented:

"Jupiter also has ring."
"OH!... and Santa Clais [sp] isn't real. Your mom buys you presents with the money she makes on OnlyFans."
"Good luck 🤪"

Mature.

Rife has yet to comment on either of these incidents, but we don't think there's much he can say.

GOP Senator Gets Blunt Reality Check After Comparing Trump Tariff 'Pain' To Home Renovation

Montana Republican Senator Tim Sheehy was criticized after he tried to compare the "short-term pain" of President Donald Trump's tariffs to home renovation, a claim so ridiculous that CNN's Kaitlan Collins quickly pushed back on the analogy.

Trump has repeatedly referred to April 2 as “Liberation Day,” pledging to impose tariffs—taxes on imports—to reduce U.S. reliance on foreign goods. He has framed these tariffs as “reciprocal,” aiming to match the duties other nations place on American exports.

Liberal Wisconsin Judge Calls Out Elon Musk In Victory Speech—And It's Everything

Liberal judge Susan Crawford called out billionaire Elon Musk in her victory speech after winning a seat on the Wisconsin Supreme Court, basking in successfully beating her Republican opponent Brad Schimel and ensuring that the nonpartisan court’s narrow 4-3 liberal majority remains intact despite Musk's efforts to sway the race.

Musk fueled the high-stakes race, having poured more than $20 million into supporting Schimel, according to state campaign records. That includes $3 million to the state Republican Party—$2 million of which was donated just last week. Due to state election laws, large contributions must be funneled through political parties before reaching candidates.
