Brendan Fraser crashed a London screening of his 1999 hit film The Mummy and was met with a standing ovation from the elated audience.

The Whale actor—fully dressed as his Mummy character Rick O'Connell—addressed the audience:

"I am proud to stand before you tonight."
"This is a film that was made in Britain. You should know that!"
"Even the second one, too. Be proud."
"Thank you for being here."

Fraser also went on to explain the filming process, which underwent lots of changes, including rewriting and shooting different scenes.

"We had no idea what kind of movie we were making when we shot this."
"We didn't know if it was a drama or a comedy or straight ahead action or romance or horror picture... all the above."
"We had no idea until it tested in front of British audiences."
"Thank you for that."

The audience continued to cheer for Fraser.

Of course, this audience isn't the only one recognizing Fraser for his incredible work.

His performance in The Whale has earned him the Critics' Choice award for Best Actor as well as his first-ever Oscar nomination.

Fraser is also slated to star alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in Martin Scorsese's upcoming AppleTV film Killers of the Flower Moon, a movie based on the book by the same title about the murders behind white settlers' attempts to strip Osage families of their land and rights and the subsequent birth of the FBI.

We've all heard the saying, "To save someone else, you have to put your own safety mask on first," and even for parents, this can be true. We cannot care for others, at least not well, when we are not caring for ourselves.

But that does not give a parent the right to put their child's literal safety at risk, especially when the reason is (checks notes) a turkey sandwich.
