After TikToker @girlsorwomen shared a viral video of a packed park in NYC as a couple had sex under a blanket, viewers were furious.

A hot and bothered couple at a public park in New York sparked heated discourse for ignoring the unspoken "time and place" rule by appearing to have sex under a blanket.

The time was broad daylight; the place, a public park with families present at Battery Park, which is located at the the southern tip of Manhattan.

A video of the apparent lovemaking showed two bodies intertwined and undulating underneath a black blanket.

Children oblivious to the love romp played just steps away, while grownups either feigned ignorance or watched with their jaws dropped. Nobody intervened during the video's duration.

The viral clip shared by TikToker @girlsorwomen showed the PDA happening in real-time, accompanied by lovely French-inspired waltz music on the accordion.

The text overlay read:

"Trying to enjoy a beautiful Sunday afternoon in NYC."

The TikToker captioned the clip, "Only in New York."

In New York, having sexual intercourse in public is considered a lewd act.

State law stipulates that public lewdness entails intentionally exposing one's "private or intimate parts of his or her body in a lewd manner or commits any other lewd act."

Although there was no public nudity involved, the couple in the viral video could still be charged with public lewdness under the New York State Penal law.
