After users of the gay dating app named the singer the 2023 'Mother of the Year,' fans took to X, formerly Twitter, to celebrate.

Pop icon Beyoncé has been bestowed with Grindr's "Mother of the Year" award for 2023 in a survey conducted by the queer dating app.

Among 10,000 users, Beyoncé emerged as the most captivating figure of the year, solidifying her place in the hearts of the LGBTQ+ community.

Urban Dictionary defines “mother” as “a woman who’s iconic and constantly serves c*nt.” It's a popular term among Generation Z, for whom “serves c*nt” means “Bold. To the point. And overall extravagant.”

The decision to honor Beyoncé was fueled by her captivating Renaissance Tour and accompanying film, which resonated profoundly with Grindr's user base.

Tristan Pineiro, Grindr's VP of Brand Marketing, expressed:

“Beyoncé gave us everything on her ballroom culture-inspired Renaissance tour and film, making her the undisputed mother of the year — the inspirational queen who just gets us."
“The queer community has always had its finger on the pulse of pop culture, and it’s always so much fun to see our users’ hot takes on the year via Unwrapped.”

Grindr's "Unwrapped" survey not only recognized Beyoncé as the top personality but also highlighted other influential figures in the LGBTQ+ community's eyes. Following closely behind Beyoncé in the top five were Taylor Swift, Dolly Parton, Kylie Minogue, and Madonna, respectively. Interestingly, Minogue secured the accolade for Song of the Year with the viral trend, "Padam Padam."

Fans quickly took to X, formerly Twitter, to celebrate the honor.

Beyoncé's dominance didn't stop there.

Grindr users acknowledged her with the title of "Biggest Serves of 2023," commending her array of dazzling costumes showcased throughout the Renaissance Tour.

Notable mentions in this category included Britney Spears' knife dance and Rihanna's unforgettable Super Bowl Halftime Show performance.

All of this is high praise for a woman whose accomplishments and advocacy have generated profound respect.

Earlier this year, the city of Santa Clara, California, named Beyoncé the honorary Mayor of the city for a day, an acknowledgment of her artistry and humanitarian efforts, particularly on behalf of the Black community.
