Compliments are wonderful to get. They can make us feel good about ourselves and let us know that the people around us value us. Positive reinforcement is such a wonderful thing.

When the first thing someone says after they taste something you made isn't a word.
But like in a good sense lol
For any potluck/party/any event where I should bring food, I love making lemon bars, and I get way too excited by positive reactions to them.. that "oh wow, who made these" is the absolute best compliment

A relative's kid (who I don't see often) named their imaginary friend after me.
To think I made an impression like that is pretty cool!
I've gotten that a couple of times, can confirm it does wonders for your self esteem. Like yea. Yea! I am pretty awesome!

Random girl told me I have nice eyes at the grocery store. I'm a 6'3 bearded guy who's a bit rough around the edges so I was flattered and felt very pretty the rest of the day.
I had a complete stranger stop and say the same thing to me. I struggled with severe insecurities for a longggg time, and this helped tremendously. I still think about it sometimes.
It helped me realize that people see things from different perspectives and it's better to ignore that negative voice in your head.

Being told "You just have that kind of smile that makes everyone else happy too." Really made my day.

There was a girl who told me I was the most confident guy she had ever met. I had struggled with social anxiety issues for years, and that statement would have been so laughable just a few years back. It was such a big statement on how well I had done to get my brain in order.

I was waiting at a train station once in a some what colourful outfit and a lady came up to me and told me I looked fabulous. I don't get compliments like that from strangers so I was kinda taken aback. I'll never forget that compliment.

Knocked a box of nachos off a shelf and caught it without looking. The guy behind me said "Nice catch."

"I like your curly hair"
Toddler at my daughter's daycare. At 36 I finally decided to stop fighting my natural hair texture. Was two weeks into Curly Girl method.
Thanks kiddo.
The best part is, you KNOW it's genuine, because kids are brutally honest!

When I was in fourth grade, the boy I liked told me I was so smart that by the time I got old, my brain would be so huge it would explode and that's how I'd die. By being too smart. And nothing's ever topped that.
