A viral TikTok showed a beautiful beach proposal almost ruined by a nearby woman who seemed to take umbrage with its setup.

User Mevilde Ahmeti shared the encounter on her personal account in a series of three videos, showing a woman approaching an elaborate seaside setup complete with rose petals and a "marry me" sign.

Thankfully the proposal was able to go off without a hitch.

@mevlideahmeti Thank god karen didnt escalate!!! Congrats @chefzeee ❤️❤️ #fy #foryou #proposal #love #ottawa #karen #part 2

Since the original video did not show the worst of what happened during the woman's initial approach to the beachside proposal, Ahmeti decided to share another video with the entire story.

@mevlideahmeti Story time! Thank you guys for helping me help my friend pull this off! & thank you to everyone who supported us🥰 #fy #ottawa #foryou #proposal #2021

"Since we have been getting a lot of negative comments, we decided to visit the park today to prove it wasn't a private property and isn't considered a place with dunes," Ahmeti started.

The dunes were a concern because of sea turtle eggs laid beneath the sand, since it is the appropriate season.

The video was shot in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada which is a landlocked location linked to Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River by the Rideau Canal.

Endangered sea turtles aren't commonly found in the area.

Ahmeti continued that the team had actually hired a professional event planner who was familiar with beachside regulations in Ontario. No signs or fencing were present telling them they were not allowed to be there.

The woman's annoyance with the event was far more trivial than concern for turtles.

The woman was mad about the use of rose petals for the proposal.

"This individual was walking around the beach and was shouting at us since she was under the impression that the roses were fake and that we were going to leave the mess."
"After my friend was calmly explaining our plans, she would not listen and kept trying to interrupt the event."

Thankfully, in the end, the proposal went off without a hitch, the individual outraged by the roses went on her way, and all parties involved got what they wanted out of the moment.

No sea turtles or sea turtle eggs were harmed in the making of this future marriage.
