'Batgirl' Star Leslie Grace Just Shared Behind-The-Scenes Footage From Scrapped Film: 'I Couldn't Resist'

Star of the kiboshed Batgirl film Leslie Grace has given the film's disappointed fan base a glimpse into what could have been, with behind-the-scenes clips she said she "couldn't resist" sharing.

The groundbreaking film featuring a diverse cast was controversially scrapped by its studio, Warner Bros., following its merger with Discovery over the summer despite being nearly complete, an act decried by those involved with the film and its fan base.

Over the weekend, Grace, who played the titular role, shared some inside looks at just what Warner Bros. Discovery is letting slip through the cracks in a series of TikToks that has fans feeling all the more strongly that the film should be saved.

i couldn’t resist.. @Omar Apollo

The first video, scored with Omar Apollo's aptly titled "Evergreen (You Didn't Deserve Me At All)," gives an inside look into both Grace's experience making the film as well as its highly technical production.

Scenes of Grace's on-set antics between scenes are intercut with scenes of her learning fight choreography, her hair and makeup transformations, the filming of intricate stunts and many other peeks into the process.

Grace's second video features an original song she wrote during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic called "Batgirls get lonely too"--which she wrote long before she ever knew she would end up playing the heroine.

wrote this song during the pandemic.. b4 I even knew ANY of this would be my life 🤷🏽‍♀️🦇#batgirlsgetlonelytoo #badgirlsgetlonelytoo

As Grace put it in her caption:

"wrote this song during the pandemic.. b4 I even knew ANY of this would be my life"

The video shows clips of Grace's grueling physical training for the role, including martial arts and boxing techniques, along with a couple glimpses of actual shots from the film.

The backlash to Warner Bros. Discovery's cancellation of the film has been swift and intense, with many suspecting the film has been unfairly targeted because of new CEO David Zaslav's rumored plans to move away from so-called "woke" content and court a more conservative viewer base.

Grace's glimpses into what could have been seemed to only intensify fans' feelings on the matter.

For all the furor over the film being shelved, Warner Bros. Discovery has shown no inclination toward deviating from its plan of collecting millions in tax breaks for canceling the project rather than releasing it to the masses.

Elon Musk used an ableist slur to go after actor Ben Stiller in response to his support of Vice President Kamala Harris in her failed election campaign and a misleading headline from a Daily Mail article in which Stiller said movies like 2008's Tropic Thunder probably wouldn't fly today.

The Tesla CEO, whom President-elect Donald Trump chose to co-lead his planned Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) advisory board, shared author John LeFevre's post on X (formerly Twitter) that included a screenshot of a Daily Mail headline that read, "Ben Stiller says woke America killed 'edgier' comedy.”
