An Aussie bakery tried to get in on the buzz surrounding the Johnny Depp and Amber Heard defamation trial, but their attempt at humor fell flat.

Dessert Boxes, an Australia based bakery that specializes in shipping gift boxes of cakes, cookies and other sweet treats, posted a TikTok poking fun at an alleged incident of spousal abuse that took place in Australia.

As explained by Indy100, the Pirates of the Caribbean star claimed on the stand his ex-wife Heard severed his finger with a glass bottle of vodka.

Depp expressed great distress over the incident, describing how blood poured from the wound, and his coming close to having a “nervous breakdown.”

In their now viral TikTok, a Dessert Boxes employee shows off a severed finger cake with a mini bottle of vodka.

Will she like it? 😂 #amberheard #justiceforjohnnydepp #amberheardjohnnydepp #dessertboxes #funny #donuts

A voice says over the video of a cake shaped like a hand:

“We're sending Amber Heard a box!"

They then show themselves removing the finger from the cake:

“We cut off the finger with a vodka bottle - we’ll throw that in for her too”

Then they show a close up of the severed piece, adding:

“We’ll send Johnny Depp this piece.”

Well, nobody liked that joke it seems.

People in the comments tore into the bakery.

Comedy is subjective, and while many considered the joke tasteless, some are still supporting Bakery Boxes.

The business hasn’t responded to the backlash, but the stunt seems to be very on brand.

Soon after the problematic post, they posted a TikTok of a penis shaped cake with the words “it’s not my job”, claiming it would be sent to Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison.

Morrison has been criticized for saying the phrase when confronted with political issues.
