Butler and his 'Masters of the Air' costar Callum Turner offered some dating advice for Barrymore after she expressed her trepidation over an upcoming first date.

Drew Barrymore has made it clear she's ready to get out and start dating again, but that doesn't mean she doesn't get nervous when the opportunity arises.

In 2022, the former child actor revealed it was time for her to put herself out there again, some six years after her divorce from Will Koppelman, who she began dating in early 2011 and with whom she shares two daughters.

Prior to that four-year marriage, Barrymore was married to Jeremy Thomas for a couple of months when she was 19, and later to Tom Green, who she divorced in 2002.

While Barrymore admitted she was fine with being single, even revealing that she can "go years" without sex, she did share she was ready to mingle again.

Cut to Wednesday's episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, and the host revealed to her guests Austin Butler and Callum Turner that she was anxious about an upcoming date, and adorably enough, Butler was able to calm her nerves by hilariously offering to be her "surprise" rescue call.

The host began:

“Funny enough, I have my first date in a long time…”

Though her guests seemed excited for her, Barrymore was terrified.

“I dread these things because they're awkward!"

She explained that she agreed to dinner for their first date, which, according to her friends, was a mistake.

"Well, first of all, the gentleman offered to pick me up, which I was so bowled over by."
"I was like, 'That's a gentlemanly thing to do,' and then we're going to go all the way downtown to this long dinner."
"Everyone says when you go on a date with someone, don't do dinner - do a drink. But I don't know better."

Butler assured her there is nothing wrong with getting to know someone over a meal.

“I like the dinner, then you know if it doesn’t work, you get to actually talk, you’re going to have a great time."
"I’ve got a good feeling.”

Still unsure, the host continued to voice her concern.

“What if you get weird vibes right out of the gate though? Then what?”

And the Elvis star once again had sound advice.

"Then you go to the bathroom and you call a friend and you have them give you a surprise call."

He then asked Barrymore:

"Do you want me to do that? I'll be your friend."

The host was floored by Butler's gesture and revealed she met the date on an app and was incredibly nervous about going out with "a complete stranger."

Barrymore turned to Butler again:

"Please be my 'get out of here free call.'"

And Butler confirmed:

"Yeah, yeah, just send me a text and I'll call!"

You can watch below.

Viewers of the clip felt it was incredibly kind for Butler to offer his rescue call services to the host.

In all reality, though, Butler has been dating model Kaia Gerber, daughter of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, since 2021.

But he was such a gentleman to offer to rescue Barrymore. We can't wait to hear how the date went... and if she needed to send that text!
