Reigning Jeopardy!champion Amy Schneider has been making headlines for weeks now for her astonishing winning streak on the iconic game show, but today Schneider is drawing attention for a different reason.
Schneider shared on Twitter she was robbed at gunpoint over the New Year's weekend in her hometown of Oakland, California.
Schneider announced the incident in a tweet Monday because it delayed her usual daily thread about Jeopardy!.
Fans of the show immediately began rallying around her to show support.
See her tweet on the incident below.
Hi all! So, first off: I'm fine. But I got robbed yesterday, lost my ID, credit cards, and phone. I then couldn't really sleep last night, and have been dragging myself around all day trying to replace everything.— Amy Schneider (@Amy Schneider) 1641257242
In her tweet, Schneider shared some of the harrowing details of the incident.
She wrote:

"I then couldn't really sleep last night, and have been dragging myself around all day trying to replace everything."
Schneider went on to say her usual recaps of her appearances on the game show may be delayed for a bit due to the upheaval of the experience, especially if her unprecedented winning streak continues.
So, I doubt I'll even start writing tonight's game thread today, and if I keep winning, it may take a bit for me to get caught up. Thanks for your patience!— Amy Schneider (@Amy Schneider) 1641257243
Schneider is one of the longest-running Jeopardy! champions in history, having won 25 consecutive games as of this writing, beginning with her first victory on November 17 of last year.
That puts her in fourth place behind James Holzhauer, Matt Amodio and Jeopardy! icon Ken Jennings.
Schneider is also #4 in overall Jeopardy! winnings, having racked up $918,000 over the course of her 25-and-counting consecutive victories.
Schneider is more than a strong competitor, however. Her winning streak on the show is also a milestone of representation.
She is the first transgender contestant to qualify for the Tournament of Champions.
So unsurprisingly, fans of the show sent an outpouring of heartfelt support for Schneider in the midst of this difficult time.
