UPDATE: On Monday morning, ABC News president Kimberly Godwin announced Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes will be placed on hiatus while the network decides on a course of action.
It seems that to ABC, any publicity is good publicity.
Good Morning America anchors Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes had the internet buzzing last week after photos surfaced of the two indulging in a weekend away in upstate New York.
The two are married.
But not to each other.
The now-viral photos are below.
\u201cThis is messy and sloppy. Now, TJ Holmes and Amy Robach will lose their jobs. Yikes!\u201d— Monet (@Monet) 1669847823
Robach and Holmes are married to their respective spouses since 2010, but word on the street is that both marriages have been rocky for awhile.
But it seems their careers are solid as ever.
Page Six reported the two would not face any disciplinary action from the network for the alleged affair.
A source told the news outlet:
"All they care about is the ratings."
"This is rating's gold. That's why [ABC News President] Kim [Goodwin] wanted them on the show today."
The source claimed employees were told to act as if everything was "normal."
"They're not ashamed."
"They're two consenting adults, who ended up loving each other."
"It's not how they wanted [the news of their relationship] to come out, but it's also kind of a relief."
Many on Twitter chimed in—if, in fact, their previous relationships were done—the two should have their fun.
Consenting adults? Who cares? More importantly none of our business.

If these 2 people can date each other while working together, can we just admit that there’s nothing wrong with dating a co-worker you’re attracted to and neither your company or the Twitter mob has any business in telling you otherwise?

🤔 sounds like it may have started as an ongoing affair…
but the reality is they’re both consenting adults & or separated/divorced so reprimanding them for their relationship would have been foolish & an overstep in my opinion.

Life is short. Take happiness when & where you find it. Good for them

Others felt it shouldn't affect their careers one way or another.
They both left their spouses in August, but the affair started months prior. They shouldn't lose their jobs because of it. People are ridiculous. 🙄

I did not know they were married to other people and how is this relevant if they are good cohost? So they had an affair! This is important to thier spouses but not the morning audience looking for entertainment hosts?

Nope, their JOB said they are clear! Both couples were said to BE officially separated from one another & the couple was planning to come out in the open since Amy's divorce will be final in a few weeks! A mess!

I don’t think they should lose their jobs over this.

They shouldn’t lose their job, I’m sure GMA knew

On Thursday's broadcast, Robach and Holmes—like the rest of the staff—acted as if all was normal and carried on with their typical reporting duties.
The sources told Page Six:
"Their attitude seems to be that they are both separated, and now they are together."
"They [feel they] don't owe anyone anything."
"There's nothing to be ashamed of."
