Conservative Pundit Rips Trump For Urging 'Termination' Of Constitution With Savage 'Spouse' Comparison

Alice Stewart tells Trump the 'constitution is not like a spouse' after he called for 'termination' of constitutional rules to overturn the 2020 election.

Republican pundit Alice Stewart criticized former Republican President Donald Trump after he called for the "termination" of the United States Constitution following the “Twitter files” leak of a series of messages between the social media platform's leadership team in the run-up to the 2020 presidential election.

The purportedly leaked messages shed light on the political disputes that erupted at Twitter as its officials deliberated over how to handle the dissemination of a New York Post story about the contents of a laptop owned by President Biden's son, attorney Hunter Biden.

The "Twitter files" leak has sparked debates among pundits, media ethicists and lawmakers on either side of the political aisle as a sign of recklessness at Twitter, which has rambled from one crisis to another under the leadership of billionaire Elon Musk, who acquired the platform in October.

But it appeared to envigorate Trump, who suggested the contents of the leak warranted either redoing the election entirely or a coup d'etat in which he would be installed as President.

Stewart called Trump's comments "absolutely ludicrous," adding the "Constitution is not like a spouse" and cannot be tossed out just because Trump wants to overturn the results of the election he lost decisively to Democratic President Joe Biden.

You can hear what Stewart said in the video below.

Stewart appeared to take a jab at the thrice-married Trump when she said the following:

“I hate to inform the former president, the Constitution is not like a spouse. You can’t just get rid of it when it no longer suits your purposes."
“The Constitution is here to protect the rights of all Americans. It is not there to change the past election of a self-serving American."
"He is wrong on this.”

Many concurred with Stewart's assessment—and her sick burn.

Conspiracy theories about Hunter Biden's business dealings have been a favorite in conservative circles for some time.

The 2020 New York Post investigation published emails suggesting Hunter Biden introduced his father, President Joe Biden, to an executive with Burisma Holdings–a Ukrainian gas firm–in 2015.

The story received criticism for shaky reporting and Twitter's attempts to block the news outlet from sharing the story received criticism from Republicans who accused the tech giant of censoring conservative voices.

In 2018, while still in office, Trump claimed that Twitter is "SHADOW BANNING prominent Republicans" in response to a news story that alleged accounts owned by Republicans were showing up in a general search of the website but not automatically populating when typing their names in the drop-down bar.

Twitter later issued a response, attributing the issue to a platform bug.

Stephen Colbert Makes Somber Plea To Americans In Wake Of Charlie Kirk's Death

Late-night host Stephen Colbert had a somber message for Americans as he addressed the assassination of far-right activist Charlie Kirk, stressing that "political violence only leads to more political violence."

Kirk died after an unidentified gunman shot him in the neck as he—ironically enough—mocked victims of gun violence at an event in Utah Valley State University. Kirk's murder has galvanized the far-right, with President Donald Trump and his surrogates claiming without evidence that rhetoric from Democrats is responsible for Kirk's death.

Sometimes you can just tell when something was designed *for* women, but was not actually designed *by* women.

Take, for instance, the new pleated pants available at Target from the Champion clothing line. While there's nothing wrong with pleated pants and they certainly have a suitable spot in the workplace, the latest rendition of Champion pleated pants are, shall we say, NSFW.

Woman Goes Viral After Revealing How Her Obsession With Matcha Landed Her In The Hospital

Let's be honest: Too much of anything isn't good for us. It's all about the balance!

But the media and social media trends have taught us that certain things are really good for us, encouraging us to be like the "very mindful and very demure" girls and take care of ourselves. One such example is drinking more matcha, especially if you really like coffee or think you have a caffeine addiction.
