READ: Alec Baldwin Attacks Fox News For Attacking Harvey Weinstein

When Fox News relentlessly continued its coverage of mogul Harvey Weinstein, castigating him over his sexual assault allegations, actor Alec Baldwin called out the news outlet for its hypocrisy.

The Hollywood star, known for his recent turn as SNL's resident Trump impersonator, lambasted the conservative network after news analyst Greg Jarrett suggested Harvey Weinstein should close up shop on his empire.

Baldwin was quick to call the network out on covering up its own high ranking executives' sexual assault allegations, particularly of Fox Chairman Roger Ailes, and ousted host, Bill O'Reilly.

Prior to posting his own tweet, Baldwin retweeted Think Progress editor Judd Legum's response to Greg Jarrett.

“Oh, so companies with pervasive sexual harassment issues at the leadership level should shut down?” Legum tweeted. “Interesting idea.”

Fox News and O'Reilly attempted to cover up their sexual harassment scandal by paying $13 million to five women.

21st Century Fox settled the harassment claims against them, which came at a cost of $50 million.

O'Reilly was eventually replaced by Tucker Carlson, who seemed ready to take over at any time.

Despite Baldwin bashing Fox News for their hypocrisy, The Huffington Post reported on the actor's less than stellar track record of conduct with women in the past.

Baldwin and his ex-wife, Kim Bassinger, divorced in 2002 after nine years of marriage that proved particularly difficult for their daughter, Ireland, who was seven years old at the time.

“Divorce is hard on a kid, no matter how you cut it. And ours was very public and nasty,” Bassinger told Net-A-Porter.

Baldwin didn't make things any better when he infamously left a voice mail for then 11-year-old Ireland in 2007 when he called her a “rude little pig." It's something that haunts him to this day.

“It’s a scab that never heals, ’cause it’s being picked at all the time by other people,” Baldwin said on Good Morning America. “My daughter, that’s hurt her in a permanent way.”

Baldwin rushing to defend Weinstein seems more of an opportunity to lambast Fox News. In 2012, the actor allegedly called Weinstein a "douche bag" for refusing to fund a project.
