Al Roker Has Hilariously Relatable Reaction After Savannah Guthrie Tests Postive During 'Today'

Al Roker Has Hilariously Relatable Reaction After Savannah Guthrie Tests Postive During 'Today'

Guthrie took a COVID test mid-show after she started feeling unwell and was quickly sent home after it came back positive.

Savannah Guthrie tested positive for COVID-19 during Tuesday's broadcast of Today, and co-host Al Roker's reaction to the news is all too familiar.

Guthrie began the morning hosting as per usual, but she began to feel a little under the weather, so she took off to take a COVID test.

Shortly after, Sheinelle Jones delivered the news to viewers, adding:

"So, as soon as we found out, she rushed home to rest up."
"So Savannah, we love you, wishing you a speedy recovery."

While the news of the moment was definitely Guthrie's positive test result, the clip went viral for a different reason.

In the middle of Jones' announcement to the viewers, Roker decided to social distance himself from Jones and Carson Daily, inching away oh so slyly, a common reaction most of us practiced about three years ago when someone nearby coughed or sniffled.

Daily did call out Roker, though, asking:

"Al, where are you going? Where you headed?"

You can watch the moment below.

Though Roker tried to be sneaky, viewers definitely noticed.

Many also wondered why Guthrie showed up to work if she was not feeling well.

And some questioned if Hoda Kotb's recent absence was in any way related.

We are wishing for a speedy recovery for Guthrie... and hoping Roker's social distancing was effective!
