Christina Aguilera Pens Powerful Defense Of Britney Spears On Twitter

Well-known pop star Britney Spears recently made allegations of abuse at the hands of her family and the conservatorship—legal control of finances and life decisions—she has forcibly been living under.

A court ruled in 2008 Spears was 'mentally unfit' to care for herself and thus awarded legal control to her father, who she claims abused this power.

Since speaking out, multiple celebrities have come forward in support of Spears' attempt to get the conservatorship overturned. The most recent celebrity to do so is former Mickey Mouse Club co-star and teen queen musical rival Christina Aguilera.

Aguilera posted an emotional Twitter thread where she expressed solidarity with Spears

She posted:

"These past few days I've been thinking about Britney and everything she is going through."
"It is unacceptable that any woman, or human, wanting to be in control of their own destiny might not be allowed to live life as they wish."
"To be silenced, ignored, bullied or denied support by those 'close' to you is the most depleting, devastating, and demeaning thing imaginable. The harmful mental and emotional damage this can take on a human spirit is nothing to be taken lightly."

Aguilera went on to discuss reproductive rights, in reference to the allegation Spears' father, Jamie Spears, refused to allow his daughter to remove her birth control device in order to have more children.

"Every woman must have the right to her own body, her own reproductive system, her own privacy, her own space, her own healing and her own happiness."
"While I am not behind the closed doors of this very layered & personal yet public conversation—all I can do is share from my heart on what I've heard, read and seen in the media."

"The conviction and desperation of this plea for freedom leads me to believe that this person I once knew has been living without compassion or decency from those in control."
"To a woman who has worked under conditions and pressure unimaginable to most, I promise you she deserves all of the freedom possible to live her happiest life."

Aguilera concluded her thread by stating:

"My heart goes out to Britney."
"She deserves all the TRUE love and support in the world."

This thread was met with overwhelming support from the Twitter community.

Fans were endeared by Aguilera's support and showed solidarity with the two stars, who were often pitted against each other by the media when they were just teens.

Fans also applauded Aguilera for using her platform to publicly support Spears

Aguilera is just one of several celebrities who voiced their support for Spears' call to overturn her conservatorship.

As the #FreeBritney movement grows, more celebrities will likely stand in solidarity with Spears to help her regain control over her own life.

Dem Rep. Offers Brutally Accurate Reason For Why He Can't Understand 'The Mind Of Donald Trump'

Massachusetts Democratic Representative Seth Moulton made a fitting observation about President Donald Trump's mind after Trump gave a 20-minute address to the nation about his war in Iran on Wednesday evening.

Trump claimed “core strategic objectives are nearing completion” in the Iran war and vowed to strike Iran "extremely hard" over the next two to three weeks. He said that he would finish the job "very fast," without setting any timeline for ending the war. He pledged to "bring them [Iranians] back to the Stone Ages, where they belong.”

Solicitor General Sparks Alarm After Telling Supreme Court He's 'Not Sure' If Native Americans Are Birthright Citizens

The relationship between Indigenous American nations and the colonizers and later settlers who arrived and established the United States is complicated.

Indigenous peoples were integral parts of the survival and success of early colonizers. The Haudenosaunee Confederacy's Great Law of Peace offered a blueprint for the United States Constitution and the structure of the federal government including the three independent branches offering checks and balances, ideally.

Racist Guy Caught On Video Tearing Through Iraqi Soccer Fans' Banner At Dallas Airport: 'Don't Come To America'

With the United States set to host the 2026 World Cup, a video out of Dallas Fort Worth International Airport is drawing attention for a very different reason: showing a man ripping apart an Iraqi soccer fan’s banner and telling them, “Don’t come to America.”

The video, posted on Instagram, shows a group of Iraqi sports fans standing in an airport holding a banner with Arabic and Spanish writing. The fans were there to support Iraq during their World Cup qualifier against Bolivia, which resulted in a 2-1 upset victory earlier that day.

E-cigarettes have dramatically increased in popularity in recent years and are often even portrayed as a cool accessory on social media.
